If I was in Vegas for more than 24 hours I'd probably have some tales to tell :D
|
I didn't go and no one that I know well went either.
From what I've read on a few boards it was smaller and only the Party from ExtremePaychecks was really good. Do a search on this board and you will find some pics from the show. |
I saw some sponsor pics and I dunno if it they took pics before it was opened or not, but all the pics were pretty empty of humans.
Some other pics I've seen showed lots of alcohol consumption and partying. Not sure what story that tells, lol :) |
same here and it is true that no one that i know went is saying much so .....everthing mustve stayed in vegas...
I didnt go due to personal problems ...My wife was in a pretty bad car accident she rolled over 3 times right outside the driveway of our house .. Good thing that my daughter got out of that car minutes before the accident. |
|couch| still trying to get peeps bailed out after the riot at one of the parties.. |rasta|

It was a smaller show than last year. Less parties too. No Game Works or webmaster poker. :(

Internext Work Vacation
Hey hey
I wuz there... but at the show only. Went to 1.5 parties... and was stuck in schmooze/work mode :) so I ended up doing the cards and flesh-pressing bit there too. Didn't get to relax much. Every day I'd get up, walk from the Luxor to Mandalay, and hit the floor and talk and walk and trade cards and collect promo items and break late for lunch and finally make it back to the room if there wasn't a conference-room party (WSG and IWantYou.com had one next to each other and everyone was in the wrong room ) I'd just pack it in, bushed burnt and satisfied. Did a lot of writing and stuff, schmoozed, ya know? I thought it was really productive and busy. |
I was there and wasn't impressed.
Show floor seemed "slow", like there was no action. I really missed the "suite parties" that usually go on from 3-8pm all the time and at night too. FTV Girls and Nubiles had a nice suite each day but that's it and it wasn't a common hangout area. I went to a few nice parties like the Jungle Bash and one at the Totem club at MGM but overall this show seemed toned down a lot! I forgot 2 things. THe lack of a center bar hurt. There was a bar but was not like the Venetian bar where Everyone went. And since things were slow I played a lot of Texas Holdem. And won. |
Hmmm
Seems the parties are the memorable thing about internext? I'm more used to the smaller conventions - where parties are damned fine actually and very cozy since in a short period of time you meet and re-meet the same people and develop stronger relationships than a business card and a brief handshake -- the main flaw of huge conventions. I made the floor what I could - I prefer the meet and greet than the promo assault - and saw the floor as the biggest business op I've ever been to. :) |

It was my first time at one of these. I spent most of the time in the seminars, which were really good. Then spent some off time at the Trade Show. I really wasn't that blown away with what was there. Don't know expected it to be bigger. I did like the finale of the last hour when everyone was throwing rubber boobs around the whole room. Nice.
Definately going to Hollywood, though. In my neck of the woods. What is your opinion on the show in Phoenix? Do any of you guys go to that? |
I heard Phoenix is very good and I'm considering going.
|
I have never been to the phoenix one so I dont know how that one gets....
Hollywood one has been very productive and seems like alot more going on. At least for us at greg-gregory.com |
I like the Florida one much more then the Vegas one and it is not just because I live here.
|
yep yep me tooo:).....
|
in my words, Vegas was TOUGH!
internext convention show, then the sponsor parties all night long wake up internext convention show, then the sponsor parties all night long wake up internext convention show, then the sponsor parties all night long wake up AVN convention show, sponsor parties wake up AVN convention show, sponsor parties wake up AVN convention show, sponsor parties hardly any time for eating or sleeping, but seems we all made it, biz was ok but for meeting new people was great all around was a great show and a great time for me |shake| |
Didn't go myself, but a few guys went from here and also heard from a few program owner friends who went. Generally it was much smaller, and I will quote someone "Was just the same group of people hawking the same stuff with a different look".
I planned on going this year, but I might go to europe instead, I hear their conventions are just getting bigger and business is just getting better. |

The show was the worst one I have been to, and was the most expensive one to date.
I think the biggest problem were the long lines to get your badges. The next problem was lack of total co-ordination/parties. It seems like there was really not a lot the sponsors were doing this year and anything that was happening didn't get a lot of promotion (Except Extreme Fetish Night and Jungle Bash). I mean those were the two parties you heard about the most. I know some guys that do a lot with the gay side of the business and it seems like they all had suites, party after party etc, and this year most of the straight sponsors didn't have shit. The prices keep going up and the value of the pass keeps dropping. In the past the passes used to get you into parties like Gameworks and such, this year it was all invite only to the parties. This means you paid $175-200 for a pass that didn't do shit but get you on the show floor and tell people who you are. Personally I don't think I will go back to the vegas show, I may go out there at the same time for a vacation and visit friends, but I am not going to dump money into Internext tickets until the show gets better. On a side note it is also very hard to find people in Vegas especially with so many people staying outside the main hotel this year. On a side note we will probably attend the Miami show for the first time this year as people say it is much more personable, easier to talk to and find people. I have heard that from many, and we are looking into hitting Phoenix as well. Not sure yet though. Andy |

I don't go to the shows for the parties or the show floor, only to see old friends and make new contacts, and the fact that the Hollywood show is all inside of one building is what makes it great for me. When I'm not at a party I like to hang out in the lobby and just wait for people to come by. |
