Yesterday we decided to take off to a beach near us that we heard was clothing optional, we got there and started to take some topless pics when Toni points to the sky and says look.

She had read about the launch and forgot about it, I hadn’t had time to read the news so I had no idea.

We then did some site seeing and ran into 2 game wardens that let us pet this young lady.

We also saw either Dolphins or sharks in the water (not very good shots, 001 to 002) and some ducks and some of NASA, so feel free to look them over they start with the above URLs and 001 to 035

That rocket launch was a NASA program called Deep Impact. The idea is, send up a telescope and a probe, and slam the probe into a comet, and watch it with the telescope that is 300 miles away.

They had a 1 second launch window.

The one night launch that I recall of the shuttle was actually visible from my backyard. An orange streak, but, not bad for being 150 miles away.

I keep saying I'll get up there to see a launch one day -- its not like we don't send a new military satellite up every 6 weeks. :)

seeing a night launch on the beach is a site that is a must see, seen 2 of them at night since I been here and on a clear night its like a shooting star.
