Greenguy and Jim now being spidered by SearchTheBoards.Com

I just wanted to take the time to let you guys know i've spidered Greenguy & Jim and have added all the posts to my searchable index located at http://www.searchtheboards.com .

In addition to being able to search over 9,000,000 adult webmaster posts you can signup for a free account and use our services such as Keyword Alerts, Thread Following Alerts, and view user stats from different boards. We're adding in more features and taking all suggestions seriously.

Another cool thing to check out is the board stats located at
http://www.searchtheboards.com/stats.phtml , it also shows user stats too!

So, check out http://www.searchtheboards.com and let me know what you think!

That's nice :)

But ranking boards by posts is like ranking TGP's by the number of gallery links they have on them :(

For once, I'd like to see boards ranked by views, which is the closest thing to "traffic" or "visitors" that we have without everyone using the same 3rd party stats program.

I never meant to imply anything by the stats and they're more of a novelty than anything else! However, if you're willing to hotlink an image I'd gladly tabulate the stats you'd like to see and include those in the stats online (boards willing).

Best Regards,

Joe

I doubt you'll get every board to use the same 3rd party stats, even if it is just an image being hotlinked.

And you really can't just pass it off as a "novelty" - you're ranking them by the post count.

I can get the board up to #2 tomorrow if you realy want me to, but what's the point of that?

You're right... I probably wouldnt get every board onboard hotlinking the image but any board looking to justify their "banner costs" would be able to show the numbers to their sponsors and hopefully close the deal...

Its a double edged sword...

As for post count... any board can be number #1 with enough post bots (and in some cases that is the case) so you're absolutely right but there are also many other factors which play into the post count of a board such as private forums for example.

If i created something which crunched the numbers would you be willing to be the first board to use it and possibly set the standard?

I know Board Tracker has some sorta of formula in place now for their rankings that, as far as i can tell, is based on posters, threads, replies & views, each being issued a number & the total used in the ranking - of course that is just a guess :D

The only true way to do it is via a 3rd party counter, but even then, you'd have people slapping the counter up on pages that aren't part of the board just to see the nubmer rise up a bit.
