PR1 PR2 - what does this mean?

I'm guessing these are site ratings?

Where do you find out what your site is rated?

Thanks,

Bill

The google toolbar will give you the 'PageRank' for your page. Also, if you are in dmoz.org, there is an indicator there which is supposedly more accurate.

The PR displayed by Google's toolbar appears to be much less useful nowdays.

Thanks!

I guess I'll have to try dmoz.org as I'm on a Mac.

A bit?
Damn! You would never find it without knowing that URL.

That makes me think, what good is it being included in that?

As a webmaster, getting listed by DMOZ is like receiving free gold.

Not only are links in DMOZ spidered daily by search engines everywhere, but hundreds of directories use the DMOZ link dump. This means that other directories like DMOZ use the DMOZ link database, which in turn means, more links to your site.

So you can get xx number of backlinks for free.

Hi

Im a dmoz editor of the Adult: Image Galleries: Video Clips: Hardcore: Long Clips: Free category...

Sometimes you can access the adult categories from the first page search feature by entering the word "pussy"...

or just use the url that GG provided |king|

If anyone has sites that would be appropriate for my category, please feel free to submit them to my category at dmoz.. |thumb

How many seconds does a "long clip" have?

Deva 2005-03-08 08:31 PM

short vs. long :)

long clips are just about the same as short clips...quality counts more than the length of the clip really...i try to make sure the clips last long enough to clearly convey the genre of the site on which they are contained... but i dont use a stopwatch and would never deny a listing unless the clips were ridiculously short, broken or of course, of questionable content. |cool|

lets just say...anything longer than 5 second clips would satisfy the "long clip" category requirements.

and no Progex....no Greenbusting yet... You? |waves|

No, I'm just an editor for a few mainstream topics.

I've yet to try my hand at editing the Adult portion of DMOZ. :)

Personally... i thought your description was good... it's just that DMOZ has their own set of standards that consider marketing as "hype"...so the desc. ends up being pretty flat sometimes...

me? i love hype |jackinthe

Is that your rule or does it come for the higher-ups at Dmoz?

Also, how many movies are required?

Deva 2005-03-09 05:54 PM

subjectives

Well, GG... its both... and it goes like this...

When I applied for editor of my category...they (DMOZ) had me submit two sites that I deemed appropriate for the category. Those sites were as follows:

Big Teen Boobs
and
Hot Brunette Babe

Both of which, feature sponsor content for vid clips.

I was also asked to point out existing sites that I believed should be removed from the category...I will not mention those sites here but I will tell you they featured broken Vivo clips.

My application was accepted and the sites I suggested were added to my category. So... I have been using the sites I suggested successfully as my guideline for acceptable submissions. One of those sites, Hot Brunette Babe...has only three 5 second clips in a gallery along with two additional photo galleries... and since my application and the sites were accepted by DMOZ ... I naturally assume that 5 second clips are acceptable for my category...or the site, nor my application would have been accepted.

Minimum number of clips...based on my successful submissions...three.

I have not seen any "hard and fast rules" on the subject. As editors, we are only given guidelines... in which, there are no rules regarding length and number of clips for my category.

I hope I havent gone too far out on a limb here...and that this long winded explanation sheds a little light |blowkiss|
