Submission via Proxies
Like AOL, my ISP uses transparent proxies. This way, all web browsing on port 80 (HTTP) is forced via their proxy servers even if you don't have one set manually.
When submitting TGP galleries to TGPs, their scripts will detect a proxy used when submitting and reject it, is it the same with Link Lists? |
I ban proxies as well.

Awwww |cry|
Guess I'll have to get a new ISP |
Me no likey proxies. But I have no problem if it's from an ISP that automagically send you through a proxy.

Mostly what you will find is that you might not be able to submit to some places that accept one submit per day per IP. You might also find yourself getting beefed for multisubmitting if other webmasters in your area are using the same or similar hosting / sponsors and whatnot.

I was worrying about the Link List scripts that detect proxies by checking the HTTP header for: HTTP_VIA HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR |
Before I go down the route of changing ISP which will force me to change my cable TV and telephone services also, I'll search for a paid ($10/month?) proxy service that hides those HTTP headers so scripts cannot detect a proxy in use. Hopefully no cheater uses that proxy server |confused|
