Not much sleep again
Jesus, I went on a good long stretch with no problems sleeping. And yet, here I am at 4 AM with almost no sleep at all.
Are you guys the same? Or is it just Greenie and myself? |
I generally sleep okay, thankfully, but I'm always up and generally working at 4am.
I got in the habit of working late at night years ago, and I still prefer it. More peaceful, fewer distractions. What keeps you up? Too much coffee? I thought this post was going to be about your furnace. |
I just think tonight was a fluke. I was awakened at 2:30 and that was it...I am up :)
|
I have terrible sleeping patterns. I usually get up at 3am or so PST..and go to bed around 8-9pm. For the last few days i've been going to bed at 6p/7pm and getting up at 130-2am. Now today (thurs) i left my computer at 3pm.. and got back on at 11..somewhere in there i had about 4 hours of totally interrupted sleep.
and multitasking..uploading content while surfing GG&J!! |thumb |yawn
I'm awake now so I guess I'm a work-a-holic too :D
No serious, I could sleep for 10 hours every night. |
I have trouble sleeping too. When I sleep through the night, it's a fluke. I can't sleep with my husband, he snores too much, but he can't fall asleep unless I'm in bed with him. So, I get in bed, wait about 4 minutes for him to fall asleep
Ugh, he fell asleep on the couch tonight and I just heard him get up. Now I've got to go do the routine. |dizzy

I know - he doesnt push back |assfuck
My body is just not on a 24h cycle. It's more on a 30h+ cycle, 20-24h awake - 10h sleep.
I had a period where I was actually normal and went up at 8-9AM... those were the days ;) |
I have very strange sleep habits too.
There is no reason for me to be up this early. In fact it is not good at all since I have a late night shoot to do tonight so I'm going to be tired by then. |
Some weeks I get up at 5am some 4am some 9am its crazy for me as well LOL
|
I've had a life-long case of insomnia. I usually sleep 3 to 4 hours tops a night. Yesterday I went to bed, woke up, and started my day...too bad it was only after 40 minutes sleep and I didn't realize it until I was already awake and then it was pointless trying to go back to sleep.
|
I've been sleeping pretty decent the last few weeks, but for sometimes - especially on the weekends - I find myself awake at 4 or 5 for no reason, so I work :D
|
I haven't slept well in years. I made a rule -- if I lie awake in bed for more than 15-30 minutes without going back to sleep, I get up and work until I am tired.
Recently I've been working Bankers Hours (10-3) and sleep due to sheer exhaustion. All I want is a few good nights of sleep. :) |
Linkster you beat me to it... that was just too easy.
I slept for 10 hours last night, and I took a cat nap yesterday, I just have been feeling totally exhausted since we got back from NY so we went to bed early last night. I've been up for 15 mins and already I feel better compared to what I have, so hopefully whatever the issue was I took care of it. I’m sick of feeling like I have had no sleep for weeks when I am getting 6-7 hours a night like my norm. Maybe I just miss cuddling with DrB?????? |
I love sleep and under the right conditions I will sleep endlessly. But I have been working late into the night and going to bed around 2-3am. The problem is that I have to get up and finish getting the kids ready for school at around 7:30. That leaves me tired all day long. You'd think after being tired all day long that I would go to bed at a normal hour, but no. Just as the wife is going to bed, I'm suddenly energized and ready to work until 2am again.
|
Anyone try naps? They seem to help me some when I can grab one.
|
in college I learned how to sleep anytime, anyplace anywhere.
There are times when I will take a nap in the afternoon (it is rare and I have to be extremely exhausted), but, most of my clients work during normal business hours and the middle of the day is pretty darn difficult to sleep when the phone keeps ringing. :) |
"in college I learned how to sleep anytime, anyplace anywhere."
I learned how to do that when I worked 3rd shift for about 2 years, naps on breaks, lunch, on fork trucks etc.... |
I take a nice 10-15 minute nap every day - it's quite refreshing :)

Or when I drink a lot, but I don't think passing out counts as sleep or does it? |
In college we had access to a bunch of cool biofeedback stuff. I had trained myself to go into deep sleep almost instantly. 15 minutes was like 2 hours of sleep. Allowed me to work those 30 hour stretches so I could sign my paychecks over to the college. :)

Hi folks,
I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but. Looking at the sleep patterns of some of you I think a few need to be checked for sleep apnea. It is a pretty simple sleep study to see if one has it. But I can tell you that to ignore it can be fatal and if it doesn't kill you (RIP Reggie White) then it will fuck up your life (I am living proof of that). It really is some serious shit and I for one am spreading the word. |
I'm sure I don't have it -- my wife was just diagnosed with it.
My sleep is interrupted, but due to external factors. :) |

Hey cd34 I'm sorry to hear that but am also happy for her. Has she started with the machine at home and all? Heres hoping she does well. Your comments about bio-feedback were interesting. I spent some time at a pain controll clinic where I learned bio, it is a life saver if practiced faithfully. |
Chris, That sucks about your lovely wife. Give her my best please.
For me...I just think it is time to give up the folly of thinking I can sleep in a waterbed. That's what was here and we decided to try it. |
