What's next for the NHL??
 

Ok, season cancelled.
St. Paul has recently built the new Excel arena for the Wild, paid for by taxpayers. Thank Norm Coleman for that mistake.

It doesn't appear that any negotiations will occur until next fall.
So now what?
St. Paul restaurants are dropping like flies. (5 closed already)

I'd say screw the NHL and start another league. The players want to play, but not for these owners.

Where does Hockey from here???
(hint, players should not be owners.... ie Lemiux (sp) and Grestky)

Honestly I think the players are crazy. They should have taken the deal, it was good and way up from their first offer of $31million and salary linkage to league revenues. How can the players seriously complain about making millions a year when their salaries are on a higher percentage of league revenues then ANY other pro league today?

I don't think they will get another offer of $42.5million with no linkage again. So where does the NHL go? To a new format altogether somehow.

Form a new league? Dissolve the Players Association? (which would be bad overall) Replacement players of some sort which would involve new players, rookies and drafts and unsigned players from the current NHL (since they are not under contract at all).

I hope something is resolved soon.

I like Nascar and i do go to a race or two but i must say i can't sit in front of the tv every sunday in the summer and watch it.... Now when it's cold and snowy i can if i don't have nothing else to do like this sunday at GG's house. :D If you do you must be a redneck. :D

Im with GG and Dare screw the NHL.... I live 5 minutes from a huge new arena for the Phoenix Dogs (aka coyotes) and the biggest draw is now a field hockey game every weekend... it's pathetic let them all go play in europe... amateur hockey is funner to watch anyways (and do hockey players really think they have the fan base of the NFL, NBA, and MLB that they can demand that much money, I mean c'mon it is the worst sport ever) |couch|
