Link Exchanges
I'd just like to ask a very basic question. Every site seems to to request Link Trades, and many give a list of URL's. I suspect that this might be a good way of increasing traffic but what exactly do I have to give in return - is it just a list of my own sites, or a mixed list of
mine and other people's. Is it just Free sites or can I give out Pay Site URL's. I've only made about 20 sites to date. Is this too few for other people to bother exchanging with me? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Cheers japamor |waves| |
Hi Japamor,
Most of us trade links to help boost our site google PR - some link requests will be worded saying - 'traffic trades' these trades are based on clicks you send them etc. As your sites get bigger (I have not made it here yet) you will be able to send 10K one way and get 10K back etc. Im happy to trade with newbies or fresh sites the same way people did to help me get my foot on the ladder - you are in the same country too ;-) I focused really hard on trading links for a long time before I started to make sites - let me know your paysites and niches if you are in the UK and they are themed for UK traffic I can prob help you get some trades within the UKtoo. Hope this helps - best of luck mate |
Remember, it's a Link Trade, so that means that you list their site & they list yours.
You're not going to find a lot of people to do link trades on Free Sites, so just submit them to Link Lists with the recips & whatnot. Most of the trades that you see going on here on the board are Link Lists, TGP's & people with Hub trading with others for traffic, PR (not me - LOL) & just to offer their surfers other similar sites. |

Thanks NochexContact and Greenguy
That's very helpful. One thing I'm not sure of. If I do a list of my 20 or so Freesites, its going to look pretty sparse. Can I pad it out with sponsor's Paysites, complete with my own linking code? Does the receiving site particularly care what I send as long as I post his links as I promise? And one final question, then I'll shut up. What exactly is a 'Hard' Link? Thanks again. japamor |
A hard link is one that does not go thru a script or cgi-bin or something like that
http://www.greenguysboard.com/ - hard link http://www.greenguysboard.com/phpads...m%2Fps_16583_A - not a hard link |
