New Server Coming
 

We are going to be down in a little while for about 20 mins while we get a new server.

No worries, National Net does great things. :)

But I was just beginning to like this one. |cry|

A BIG server for a BIG board

Well, I have good news and bad news.

Like Jim said, we're going to be upgrading the board server to something nice and beefy.

The bad news is that it's not happening as quickly as we hoped because we've been slammed by server orders this week (not a bad problem to have) and the only "nice and beefy" servers we have are our spares. We have a load of servers on order which should hit on Monday or Tuesday and we'll give priority to the board server.

We thought we had a couple of extra boxes, but they won't work for what we want to do here...

I'm sure that either Greenguy or Jim will update you when the official upgrade happens...but sorry to get you all excited :D

Today was just a practice run at 'refresh', next time it'll be so much more fun!

It gave the contest that little extra ;)

Have I been picked? Will my browser be able to refresh within 15 minutes?

Actually, no Bill. I just spoke to Thomas who said that we were in fact getting the new server tonight as promised.

And we are now on the new server :) Now if we can only get the banner rotator working properly, we will be all set.

It's super fast for me now :)

But, it really should have been fast all along.

Jim, I really didn't have any problem here until tonight while the contest was going on when it either just froze up on me or I got an error message but it appears to be even faster than before :)

Yeah - we had to get a bigger & faster hamster for the server :D

In all seriousness, Nat Net has been working with us on this & we're confident that any & all issues will be resolved today |shake|

You could always give Tim Taylor the tool man a call if you need more power! LOL, congrats on the new server GG&J!
