WTF is wrong with people?

I don't have a rule on my link list "yet", for multiple submissions, yet I keep getting the same guy submitting from at least 5 different names. So easy to spot, as he uses the same templates, and the lesbian recip on all the niches. LOL

Gonna get his ass banned for no reason. |slice

I think most of us would ban him for multisubmitting, BUT as you said you don't have any rules posted about that. Maybe he thinks it's acceptable at your LL?

LowryBigwood 2005-03-04 11:56 AM

But why change his name everytime, as it's not against my rules currently to submit multiple sites a day? Maybe he's just used to cheating... hah.

Ask him? ;)

I had this person who multi-submitted heavily to my TGP who always used Claudia as her contact name, but the email address would be different for each domain. And she was submitting one gallery per domain every day. Her submissions were acceptable, so I didn't want to have to ban her for being stupid. I emailed Claudia using one her many email addresses informing her that I allow multiple daily submissions, but that she really needs to use the same email address across the board in order to not look like she's cheating. She continued on the same way and I blacklisted all of her domains.

Those people are usually using autosubmitters and submitting to a LOT of lists in hopes of being listed at a few. Even though your list doesn't have a rule about multisubmitting, he's going to keep doing it that way in hopes of cheating on some of the other lists he submits to. The goal is to dominate your list with his sites, the "quantity instead of quality" approach to making money.

PR_Tom 2005-03-05 02:16 PM

AH yeah :( Guess it's usually pointless to ask or tell them, even when you're telling good news, or asking simple question with no wrong answer.

It's sad really. If someone said Hey Tom, go for it, 5 per day just make them different. I'd be all over it I think.

I dont have a problem with one person submitting multiple sites a day, but I dont want someone changing his name and email on every submission, makes me suspicious. :)

Hi Lowry,
Had exactly the same thing even though I also accept 5 per day. Obviously a cheater who has added you to their database of other LLs to cheat at. These people must make money somewhere or they wouldn't keep doing it, but how much more they could make if they just followed the rules...

Hi Zel. |waves|

I fully agree with you here, they are only hurting themselves. :)

Two days ago, we removed one of the input fields on our site submission form. After that, new site submissions dropped by almost 50%. I guess changes like that must mess up the autosubmitters, eh? I wonder how long it will take them to figure out that they aren't submitting to Blue Wave anymore and adjust their scripts for the change in our form?

Autosubmitting to LL's ... hmmm.. there arent that many of them really...

Joe 2005-03-08 07:33 PM

I don't have a problem with multiple submissions either, as long as the templates are different and of high quality.

I find it funny how people try to hide themselves, but leave obvious tracks behind such as IP, WHOIS, etc.
