Can an Email Client Process an HTML Form?

A customer of mine wants to send a short survey to their subscribers via email right in their inbox. Can this be done reliably? I'm worried about how the form will be rendered in the email clients and how the data will get passed back (will it open a new browser window to the results page)?

Also, the form is in a HTML document with CSS... which email clients tend to screw up. What do you guys think?

I seen them work but I've also seen it broken by mail clients.

I wouldn't do it.

Cleo, yeah I told them I thought it was a pretty bad idea. I actually didn't know if it was even possible given how weird email clients behave sometimes.

Jim, that would be evil indeed. I will look around. :D
