Search engine submission websites

Ever used one of those websites that submit your site to 300 search engines for $20 and do you think its worth it ?

Don't do it!

You are far better off allowing your site to get crawled naturally by bots through any links to you from other sites. It happens pretty quickly anyway.

My apologies I didn't see there was a search engine forum |bow|

m@rk - no worries about the forum thing :)

& like UW said, it's much better to let the SE's find you with their spiders - most of those submission services are banned from the SE anyway.

Not worth it. Besides there are only a handful of SE that matter anyway.

Many times, if you get your site crawled by the major SE bots, you'll be crawled by the smallers SE's as well.

M@rk - unfortunately most of those site submission services will get you more problems than just getting linked up people like the guys and gals here - some submission services are even classified so shady that submitting with them will get you on permanent ignore by the SE's

I remember back when I bought my first domain I used one of these services.. Not only did I NOT get any traffic, I got a shit load of spam from them submitting the site to Free For All directories instead of actual SEs.

Don't do it!
