Building A Hub

My first site is now up and running, I've Got plans to build 5 or 6 more this week. When should i start to build my hub? and do i just point it to the current warning pages or should i prepare more pages without the recip links?

You'll read differing opinions on this subject, but to me, a hub is like prison sex. Wait, bad analogy. A hub is like a make-your-own sundae. It can be anything you want it to be. Some hubs are nothing more than a listing of owner's work and a few banners. Others are big meandering labyrinths of hosted frees sites, galleries, and such. If I were you, I'd start now and build it in your spare time.

Start it now - if you start it after you've built all these sites & whatnot, you're gonna have to go back & add links to them, which would be a pain in the ass.

Put it online & build it as you go :)

make it like it feels best to you - if you want you can also start making different hubs, one for each category

The sooner you start, the sooner you'll get Google PR, se pop, ect. And the sooner you'll have something to offer if you want to do trades in the future.

How's this for a hub? Listing my own stuff atm of course but would like to develop it later.

In short, a hub is another way to try & make some $$ from your traffic. :D
usually the index page of your domain, with a link-list type of format that lists your sites, your sponsor hosted sites etc & some ads, because it isn't going to be listed at any LLs you can pretty much do whatever you want with it,

If you link all of your free sites/galleries to it you will start to have a traffic flow from them to your hub, then out to your sites again.

That's my basic understanding of it - I'm just learning it all myself but to be honest, everything I know I got right here! Search for hub & you will probably pick up some more good info. :)

ps- my sig is the hub I'm working on now, it's galleries & all sponsor stuff at the moment, I work on it in my spare time
so if anyone else has some tips, share 'em!

yep you are right PonyGirl thats the way a Hub is

Some people also link to their hub from their freesites.

One downside to doing this is that it may count towards your 3 outgoing link rule.
