Question to all LL Owners (Movies on freesites)

I see, that generally.. you like when a freesite has at least 10 clips or 120 sec in lenght for all the clips.
But, how would you like less but longer clips.. i don't know like 4-8clips but still 120 sec or even more??? Ofcourse if on the each gallery page will be like 2 or 4 clips, there would be also like only 1 banner and some txt link (i mean some really clean gallery pages). How would you like that?

My rules say "Free sites with movies must have a minimum of 120 seconds worth of movies & the movies must be at least 10 seconds in length." so that's fine with me.

Dont see how it would be a problem, as Greenguy mentioned and most sites, think it's really the total time.

ok, ill try that soon just beacuse i have some probs with cutting .wmv files. I have an error which says that i should have wm player in ver at least 9 installed on my pc (i have wmp 10) the prog is easy video splitter

However, for the sake of people with slower connections, I wouldn't accept a site with a single 120 second movie. That would be too huge of a file to download in one gulp for many users.

RawAlex,
you're absolutely right, it would be also hard to make a 'real freesite'(when freesites used to contain 2 galley pages and some 'more' content than one or two (clips, pics) ) however, im not saying that this is impossible to do :)

Thank you all for yor precious answers and time:)

I should clarify my rules & say there has to be at least 4 movies total (min 2 per gallery page)

Personally I just use "Windows Movie Maker" that comes standard with WinXP, it does a pretty good job :)

also used it for doing some editing jobs - but it shouldn't be used for only splitting the clips as you will encode the file again and again..especially you get a great quality loss when your raw file is already an mpeg or a wmv file

Rocco,
i use Easy Video Splitter, preety cool small tool however, it cant do wmv's :/

Cleo 2005-04-06 09:05 AM

I never use wmv files and always use mpegs.
This is what I use to split movies.

Works great and is only $15 dollars but it is only for Macs.

mpegs give you less probs on some linklist scripts but wmv is better encoding - mpeg is quite out of age |shocking|
