GG, Fix your recips please

You have a bug into this recip's code

But must be
, I have fix this problem, but people without HTML knoleges will have big headache with this problem!

Also running bar in SmutGremlin's recips have troubles, it work only with white link color, I think that trouble is in a tag. Maybe only I have this shit, I don't know.

LL and TGP owners, please don't waste your and poster's time with problems like this,
because really good sites are declined with reason : Wrong Recip, but recip is taken from yours recip pages!

Sincerely, MAX !

They work fine for me & you're the 1st to ever complain about them.

What browser are you using?

Anyone else having problems?

or

Both are correct. I usually use the second one as it tends to look better.

I don't think is correct, but I could be wrong.

Less code in the second example, too.
td align=middle is not correct, although it does display correctly. valign="middle" is good.

Mr. Blue 2005-04-07 08:25 PM

I always just centered it myself, but yeah I had to correct it. I figure one click in dreamweaver and I didn't have to bug anyone, lol.

HC-Majick 2005-04-07 08:32 PM

same here. fixed any errors and deleted extra tags from all recips when i was putting together my recip tables.

X-Drive 2005-04-07 08:35 PM

It looks ok both in IE and Firefox, these browsers display it correctly, although "middle" is for vertical align only, "center" for horizontal. Less popular browsers (like Opera) could display it incorrectly.

Take a look

Yes, this bug can be fixed in one click, but I want to tell, that many good and big LL recips have little but verry unpleasant bugs, such as incoretly closed tags, font tags without COLOR (text become same color with all other links) etc.
It's not problem when you submit in 20 LL, but when you have base on 150-200 LL then that become a VERY big problem! You must to fix recip codes on submited pages!
I just want to say, that problem exist and owners could to fix it and safe itself from unnecessary cares, thats all!

I'm first because other afraid to be banned :D
I'm using Netscape, but it isn't browser's problem!
GG, nothing personal, but your LL is big and good known, that why I post this messages to your forum! I don't know how to come into notice in other way.
PEACE |peace|

Greenguy 2005-04-07 10:08 PM

I did them all up in Namo, so you can blame them :D The weird thing is that, when you pop the box to align the tables & cells, it does say "center" for the align part, but when you hit OK, it codes it as "middle"

I'll do a search & replace on that page tomorrow & fix it all up :)

Greenguy 2005-04-07 10:11 PM

Oh - can you show me an example of what it looks like on your end as well? Just so I can see how fucked up pretty much all my pages are.

(or does it just looked fucked in Dream Weaver when you're coding it?)

plateman 2005-04-08 12:55 AM

I never had any problems with any recips except jays one time and I fixed it and never had any complaints using greenguys.. if if doesnt look right in DW but I know they look right in FP...

Mishi 2005-04-08 05:23 AM

Many recips look just fine as coded, as long as they're on their own, but the minute you start plugging them in to tables, they fall apart.

And it's far too late at night for me to go into an I Hate "WYSIWIG" rant, so suffice it to say that I Hate "WYSIWIG". 'Cause, you know, it's not. It's "What you see is what I show you."

Bleh.

Grat thanks, respect |headbang|

Useless 2005-04-08 08:55 AM

I always change his recips to because I think that green is just so blah. Otherwise, I've never had any problems with them.

Greenguy 2005-04-08 09:13 AM

Fixed (I think)

I'd still like to see how fucked up they were.

Recip with <...align=middle...>
Recip with <....align="center"...>

They look the same to me :)

Torn Rose 2005-04-08 10:22 AM

I think he means a screen cap of the bad pages

Max Barbitura 2005-04-08 10:35 AM

I don't know, I have that shit in first example.
Maybe in IE everything looks nice, but in HTML specification ALIGN can't be middle 100%!
But you have fixed this problem, thanks!

selena 2005-04-08 11:24 AM

~tosses in .02 cents~

I always fix GG's recips. They don't center properly for me.

Useless 2005-04-08 01:40 PM

I thinks it depends on the CSS that people use. I've seen people post free sites where GG's recip was aligned to the left and it seems that their CSS has some odd affect affect on his and other's. I never ever create a style rule for with a class. I always give tags a class, such as so that my CSS doesn't interfere with the default linking in link list's text recips.

Can't argue with 'middle' being wrong though. It is. And I can see the difference between the samples posted. Probably because I'm viewing with Firefox.

stuveltje 2005-04-08 02:15 PM

never had problems but then i always make sure they fit my receip tablke, and yes this is the first time i hear about gg linkback is not right

Fido 2005-04-08 04:57 PM

A lot of LL owners (I do not mean any particular person) do not generate their recips by script, but they do them manually, so it is very easy to make some mistake. What really piss me off is when their recip is missing table closing tag, it can destroy whole page and it is a job for Sherlock Holmes to find what recip is causing the problem.
