It's good that I don't have broadband access... I get time to run some numbers :)

I made a test some time ago with a small and a big enter link. Both sites were pretty much the same, same niche, same type of ads.

The one with the small enter link had a lot fewer people going to the main page. That makes sense, right? I figured I would send more to my sponsor, but I was wrong. I sent about the same amount to the sponsor as on the one with the big enter link.

So what does all this mean for people who insist on small enter links?

1. You miss out on 3 pages filled with ads: 3x3 = 9 ads
2. You miss out on potential traffic from LL's that reject due to small enter link.

now, that gives me something to think about...
one would imagine that a small enter link would make more people click on sponsors on the index page..

I agree, don't hide it, get them horny and send them off to a sponsor.
