First steps in WordPress RSS Feeds
Boogie, I know you wrote something about RSS feeds but I can't find outhow it works extacly :) Could you explain it on Wordpress example? (step by step would be great)...
Thanks |
hey blind.
Your rss feed for wordpress should be entirely automatated. IT should also be linked on your blog from the main page depending on the template you use. Looking at your blog atm, looks like yours is here: http://www.gonzo-blog.com/feed/ its a good idea to add this to your 'meta' section on your template using the orange xml icon that people recognize as being the link to a feed. you can see an example of this on most blogs including mine. While you're there, you should look up how to add an "add me to yahoo news" and "add me to msn" buttons as well as many, many others that people use... newsgator, etc. Every time you find one of these it makes it one step easier for someone to syndicate your blog for themselves. :) |
Thanks :)
I'm having a problem with My Yahoo, I put the code in template and when I click it Yahoo gives me this - Preview not available. Add this content to your page to see it. But when I click on your MyYahoo I can see you latest posts. Do you know what can be the reason? :) * Same thing in MyMSN, it must be something with my XML, but don't know what :/ |
Hey blind. I was able to add your feed to my yahoo np. it appears there just fine and everything. I couldnt see the preview on that first step but in the end it doesnt matter as long as it makes it to their yahoo.

My tip is to use "Feed Burner" to automate adding these feeds to your meta. They have several different options to choose from (whether you want to enable smart browser or convert your atom feeds to RSS, etc)
And they output the feeds to be burned for Yahoo, MSN, News Gator and just a generic orange XML chicklet. |thumb http://www.feedburner.com |
