How come you move a post off of the general board?

I was looking for a post that I was told to go and check out for our Party at Cybernet in San Diego.

At the risk of having this moved I will not mention the sponsors or the details of the party.

But I noticed the announcement was moved to your Products and Services area. And the party is neither a product nor a service... just something fun for the webmaster community to enjoy?

I am not upset and i am certainly not unaware of how boards work even though this is my first post here since I stopped being Platinum Ellisa and moved over to Smashbucks.

But I do not understand how come a party post would be moved ?

Ellisa,
Not sure why Green Guy would bump off the main board at party we have all worked very hard for webmasters coming to a show in San Diego Cybernet Expo?

This party is put on by |spam|

Do we really need to explain how this board works once again |banghead|

Ellisa and Mike
They do it with EVERYBODY. It's no offense to you guys or SmashBucks. Happens to everyone unless you are a paid advertiser. They are still nice guys here and not picking on you guys at all.

Don't worry, it gets read. Most people click "New Posts" when they enter the board before searching through sections they want.

Just be glad that I'm not a moderator. I'd delete this post since it is just a coy spam to get everyone to go look for a fucking spam post that was moved to where it belongs.

And I'd delete this post too! :D

Greenguy 2005-05-18 05:54 PM

We don't delete posts, you silly goose! It's much more fun to move them & confuse people :D

koolkat 2005-05-18 06:00 PM

No... what is fun is to move them and leave a redirect message and then delete them from the place you moved them to. It still leaves the redirect, but the thread is gone! No that is the way to fuck with people!

Announcements are considered spam, no?

Agent 2005-05-19 12:15 AM

A post promoting something that is directly related to promoting something else is a promotion and therefore not considered appropriate for `General'. It's in the Webmaster Guidebook. Section 43, paragraph 6 under the heading `Indirect and Obfuscated Promotional Tactics'. This promotion is sometimes referred to as `Promotion in Sheep's Clothing'.
