VISA Vs. Others

I am just wondering (for those of you who know) what percentage of your transactions are processed by VISA vs other credit card processors. I just dished out the $750 for ccBill after being open for 2 months with no VISA processing, and I was really surprised how many people use other types of credit cards. I have heard that VISA processes 60% of all credit card transactions. Does this sound right based on your experience? I'm hoping so, because that means I can more than double what I have already made (which has been better than I expected so far!)

Jim & I touched on this a bit on last weeks Radio Show - I can't find any hard data, but I'd bet that, since there are 4 major CC's, that Visa has 1/3rd the market, MC has 1/3rd, AmEx 1/6th & Discover 1/6th.

The only Visa I have is the one I got with ePassporte & that's mostly because my bank (Citibank) shitcanned all their Visa CC's dues to some major dispute over fees.

It's not a problem paying the fee since I made enough to cover it last week, but my wife about shit a brick when I told her I paid that much just for the ability VISA. I really hope it pays off in the end!

mine run about 70-80% on average....of course I have no idea how many of these would also have m/c, discover, etc, and would use that if no visa was available, nor do I care to take the risk of losing the majority of my clients!

cheers,
Luke
