Quick question?

How many megs in a gig.

The bandwidth limit for my host is 75000meg. Is that 75 or 7.5 gig?

I'm hunting down a new host so i need to know what to compare it too.

1 Kilobyte = 1024 Bytes
1 Megabyte = 1024 Kilobytes
1 Gigabyte = 1024 Megabytes
1 Terabyte = 1024 Gigabytes

75000 Meg would be about 75 Gig

For the math impaired like me I have a Bandwidth Calculator on this page.

its all based on the powers of 2, ie 2,4,8,16....1024. Officially 1G = 1024M, but as an approximation its easy to say 1 G = 1000 M.

Now here is where the totally geeky confusion sets in, if you are dealing with some products (like disk drives) or some companies (like Dell) they calculate it at 1G = 1000M not 1024M, this is why disk drives are always smaller when you look at their total space in explorer as opposed to what you think you bought.

hope that helps make things clear as mud LOL!!!

cheers,
Luke
