How to hide affilliate codes on mouse over
How does one code a link so that the full url does not show when you mouse over it. You know, the text that shows up at the bottom left of the browser. I dont know what thats called.
While I'm at it how do you code so that your own unique text goes there when the page loads. Is this done in java or something or can it be done in html? |

It's actually just a collection of my own personal notes. :)

Seems Mozilla dont quite like the code. Status bar just stay's blank, but its working in IE.
Does this actually make a significant differerance in sales? Do surfers try to avoid letting someone else make a commission with obvious affiliate links. For those surfers who even know what an affiliate link is. A year ago I didn't. I run into it offline. I told all my poker buddies to use my links on my poker site to sign-up at a particular poker room and the first question that comes to there mind is "So how much do you make off this?" or "What's my cut?". Only 25% of them would do it. People are so strange. |
Hey there Stever...if you're using FF...there's a setting in FF that has to be changed for mouseovers to work.
Try this... Tools > Options > Web Features > Advanced > Then check the box that says 'Change Status Bar Text'. That should fix ya up :) |
Thanks MrYum ;)

A lot of TGPs have the code banned as well. I would leave your browser at its defaults so that you see what most see. |
