Review my gallery please

I'm thinking about giving TGPing a shot. Can someone take a look at my 1st attempt and tell me if there are any obvious reasons it wouldn't get listed (apart from crappy design and sponsor content).

What I'm most worried about is that the content isn't in the same folder, but I'm hoping that having it on the same domain is good enough most places. TIA

Most TGP's won't care about your folder structure as long as you aren't hotlinking any content. But, there are a few that are sticklers about all content for a gallery being in the same folder (or subfolders within that folder).

Always read the rules before submitting to a TGP for the first time. Some of us TGP owners can be a tad eccentric with our rules.

There are lots of blind links and "Click Here To Join" which reviewers and tgp owners won't like.

Since when is "Click Here To Join" a blind link or considered misleading? I use it and get accepted at all the tgp's I submit to when I do use it.

Looking at your code "onMouseOver" is banned at some tgp's...banned at enough places that you shouldn't use it.

I didn't get it. OnmouseOver is a sort of blind link and "Click Here to Join" these words are usually forbidden to use on gallery.

I really don't see how anything could be considered blind, but I understand that TGP is a different beast than LL. Maybe "Click here to join Paysite.com"?

Thanks for the tip on mouseovers Mr. Blue.

Thanks for the tip on mouseovers Mr. Blue.

Well, you sponsor link doesn't really show where it leads to
I mean insted of http://www.herfirstdv.com/t2/cfree=lemmy/tour1.htm it showing as it is linked to http://www.herfirstdv.com/, so it's blind link.. see ?

Gotcha. You were referring to the mouseovers and not the actual linked text. :)

onmouseover is banned html at most tgps...so that part he should get rid of but the words "Click Here To Join" isn't usually forbidden at tgps...at least at the tgp's I submit to.

Ok I'm not that sure about "Click Here To Join" but Click here, main, page 2, next page, etc are banned words.
So I'm suggesting not to use any form of "click here". That's all.

TGP's right? I'm not super familiar with LL's rules, but TGP rules is something I do every day.

Join Now! Click Here!
Click Here for A Free Tour!
Instant Access...Click Here! Etc, etc, etc

All of those would be accepted. I think the only time Click Here would be a no-no is if you implied that it was leading to another gallery. I.E. Click Here for Gallery Two and it lead to a sponsor...then you would be hosed.

As I said, I'm not sure about LL's and their rules regarding Click Here, but just check thehun out and you'll find 90% of the galleries there have a Click Here somewhere, lol.

Would be nice to hear tgp owners opinion on this matter.
P.S I submit to tgp/mgp for over a year now, never used any "click here" combinations :D

Umm, seriously check the pro-designs of a lot of gallery makers and they use Click Here in some format. I'm not saying it's a good thing to do, but your pages will get accepted. Here's some designer pages...some people I know, some I just admire there work, but thumb through their portfolio's and you'll see some shades of Click Here throughout.

Also, umm, just check The Hun, Shemp, Persian Kitty, Richard's Realm...if it's alright with them...it's alright to do :D

Toby 2005-05-22 02:10 AM

My two TGP's don't rank with the heady list in Mr. Blue's post above, but I have no problem with galleries that use OnMouseover to hide affiliate codes. I do so myself on the galleries I submit to other TGP's. I've never had a gallery declined because of them.

X-Drive 2005-05-22 02:14 AM

Well, I can say that there are rules that aren't written, but you do follow them.
For example how many times have you seen tgp rule "Your gallery must fit 800x600 resolution" ?
But on some sublime level you understand that it should. IMO same with "click here"...

Umm, okay...my experience is that it doesn't stop you from getting listed and it isn't that hard to look at the listings of most TGP's to see what they'll accept. I also don't think there's even an implied rule regarding that...as long as it's not deceptive and there's nothing deceptive in, "Click Here To Join"

Panky 2005-05-22 06:16 AM

Mr. Blue is correct. "Click Here" is accepted as long as the link is not misleading or disguised. I've used combinations of "Click Here" and "Join Now" for a few years and have never had issues.

Personally, I would show exactly where the link links to in that gallery. Some reviewers may not list it because the link doesn't show in the browser exactly where it links to. Some surfers may not click it either maybe thinking that "Why do they need to hide where the link goes?"

The gallery is fine as far as image and thumb sizes and the quality. You also used the no console link, which is a good thing.

Funny thing is last night I almost dropped you an ICQ to get you to post here, lol. Who knew I just had to think really hard to get you to post, lol. Thank you Panky :D

I have another question that I just thought of: In the LL world most people want their recip to be on a "true" index page, meaning I have to create a separate folder for each mirror. Is it the same with TGP or can can I put a bunch of mirrors in the same folder?

Bunch of mirrors in one folder is fine.

OK, thanks.
