Judge Orders Sex Club To Shut Down
http://www.theindychannel.com/news/4540030/detail.html
"Our zoning laws exist for a reason: to protect families and children from being exposed to the negative effects that adult businesses can have on a community," Peterson said. "Illegal adult establishments like Reel One are a detriment to strong, healthy neighborhoods and simply will not be tolerated in Indianapolis." This was the club that Toni and I have been members to for 2 years, this was a very classy and clean club when we was there, nothing on the outside made you think this was anything more then a old house that had people show up 3 days a week. They ran very tight security and had, at one time, a good relationship with the Indy PD and as many times as we were there, never witnessed one problem. Then a local news station did an undercover story there and the Bibles got thumped…. Freedom??? Not in this country. |
that sucks dude.... honestly, i didn't know about swingers clubs until i got into the adult industry. oh yeah, i know no 1 in here thinks they're "free".... do you?
... |
I feel very free. Cheap, at the very least.
|
I am not getting the point why they shut it down? This country sucks

There is an important thing to take from this:
The club was shut down by applying zoning laws. In many areas, adult related business are restricted from operating within a certain distance of various "key" things, such as churches, schools, playgrounds, amusement parks, other adult businesses, licensed establishments, hospitals, and similar. These zoning laws are cleverly written so as to just about make it impossible to find space to operate an adult business. With the new 2257 "rules", many american webmasters will be forced to declare their home as their business address. You work in an ADULT business. You might want to consider the ramifications of that versus your local zoning bylaws. The zealous over enforcement of laws is what makes the US such a nice, free place. Alex |
Also, since were on the subject of swapping and scrogging, did you know:
-theres a lower occurance of STDs amongst swingers and -the divorce rate for swingers is substantially lower than that of non-swinging married couples? Swinging, it's not just for breakfast anymore. |

We have been swinging for over 10 years now,,,so I should know |thumb |
Alex, Yes it is like that in my toen also, ven bars are not allowed to open close to a church...

Recently Miami altered its laws regarding sex offenders requiring a 2500 foot distance from Schools. Then strategically placed a charter school at a particular address guaranteeing total coverage of the downtown area so that no residential areas were able to be occupied by a registered sex offender.
This coincided with the groundbreaking of a 74 story condo with units in the 'low eights'. |
Sadly, the courts have never seen fit to slap cities or counties up side the head too hard about this stuff. Under the guise of protecting the children (where did I read that this week) they pretty much can get away with limiting the rights of individuals for the poor children.
I am convincing myself more and more that this is one of the routes that will be taken. Alex |
That sucks, Torn! So sorry you lost your club.
We had a case like that here (Denver, Colorado area) a few years back. A very popular and well-known topless club had been in the same location for over 15 years and no one, and I do mean NO ONE, had complained. Then there was an election and the assclown that became mayor decided he didn't like it... so he called in a few favors and had the zoning laws changed. He did this without consulting his constituency and very quietly and behind the scenes. All of a sudden... BAM... the club was hit with a 24-hour cease and desist and the doors were literally chained and locked by the Denver PD. People were seriously pissed... the story made headline news around here for the better part of a month. Needless to say, the do-gooder in question wasn't re-elected when his term was up. It scares the hell out of me what one obsessive-compulsive bible thumper with a mission can accomplish with so little effort and a whole lot of attitude. :( |
