2257 grandfathering?
hey everyone-
I've been trying to follow everything with the new 2257 and Ive just downloaded the full text which I will be going over soon. however, I'm confused if whether or not web sites produced before the june deadline are grandfathered? I already have all model IDs from purchased content and post 2257 information at the bottom of my pages. So if I stop producing websites before the new regulations go into effect will I be okay? I know there can't be a 100% definite answer to this, but is there a general consensus? I'm just a part time webmaster and while I do decently, I'm not making a ton of $$$. I go to school full time and I'm planning on pursuing a career in other areas, so I don't want my online adult activities to follow me and jepordize a future career. So, I'm thinking about getting out of the game for at least the summer until I can re-evaluate how the justice department will be using these regulations. I'm a lot of other people are in the same boat. I hate C.P. as much as the next person, and I don't even do anything with current questionable/extreme content but I just dont want to get fucked over this. |
The revised reg's apply to all sexually explicit depictions produced after July 3, 1995.
