LL/TGP Owners - I need Documentation

Thats right - for all those little recips you guys have that have pics in them - guess what - they will all have to be documented :) Yeah Im being a little sarcastic but if you take the letter of the law thats how minutely we have to think of these things.

Im thinking we ought to come up with a page for our websites to be posted by the whole adult community on one day - say the 15th this month - that explains to all the surfers what has happened and see if we cant get some press coverage on our side showing the negative impact this will have overall in both the economy and the reporting and prosecution of the sites this law was supposed to affect.

A one day moratorium on all adult sites on the net would definitely raise some attention.

Useless 2005-06-01 10:52 AM

I would most definately go that, but I like attention.

When the new regs were first proposed, you saw those 'Bush or bush' banners on a few sites, but that really doesn't draw the attention necessary to create a pro-porn revolution. Close the adult sites for a day so that judges can't jerk off in their chambers and mabye they'll wake up and listen.

Good idea Linkster.

Glad I used text recips.

Everybody to pop the same page with all the info. |mml|

Maybe get somebody like Tam to write it. |shocking|

As far as the recips, yeah, we gotta have the docs apparently. I also figured out how not to have the docs(people will owe me big time). |headbang|

That's a great idea Linkster

RawAlex 2005-06-01 07:32 PM

Findpics will accept that any "picture" return link can be replaced without any issue for your findpics listing.

The findpics return link is text, enjoy it :)

Out of 78 possible recips we offer, only one ugly little animated gif shows anything that might require 2257 documentation. We're removing that today. If any of you are actually using that button (I don't remember ever seeing it when I've reviewed sites, because it's UGLY), feel free to replace it with one of our other buttons.

RawAlex 2005-06-02 02:36 PM

Ann, if you have models of any sort on any button, you need to either (1) provide 2257 documents or (2) provide documentation to prove it is exempt.

Good luck!

Alex

I could get behind this. |viking|

Boogie 2005-06-02 06:45 PM

Would be glad to do this with some of my larger sites. :)

Mishi 2005-06-04 07:56 AM

There was a good idea here. Has it really died this quickly?

Linkster 2005-06-04 09:10 AM

I dont think it died - yet :) Just seeing how much interest there is in this type of thing - I think that a few well placed posts on a few boards might garner a little interest - but I also think the sponsors are going to sit back and watch - seems to be a bunch of apathy going amuck

MrYum 2005-06-04 11:13 AM

Yep, this does look like a good idea...count me in |thumb

And a lil bumpski to keep it fresh :D

Jel 2005-06-04 01:20 PM

I'm up for that Linkster |shake|

Toby 2005-06-04 05:19 PM

Count me in too. |thumb

I think the sponsors and such have figured it out - the traffic isn't going to change, it is just going to come from other places. It isn't the programs that are getting screwed, but the individual US based webmasters who are going to get a forced anal probe.

Lovely.

Alex

Linkster 2005-06-04 06:11 PM

Alex - not at all - while I agree that some business models will not survive, and some others will be forced to change a bit (a little extra work once they get caught up) there is an opening for literally hundreds of thousands of hits of traffic that will have to go somewhere :) - its up to the individual WMs to figure out where

Secondly - there will be some foreign entities that dont want to provide documentation that will be forced out of business when US WMs stop using them for lack of documentation - all the better for some well organized US companies to fall into their place and keep the business going - I thought it was well put by the DOJ's responses in that they recognized some overseas companies wouldnt want to comply - just as some export companies dont like to label other goods properly - and that will just hurt them in the long run if we cant document something.

i'm glad somebody was looking for this thread, I missed it the first time... IF I 404 any of my sites the 404 page will explain exactly why so that surfers know what is going on... and I will gladly have it show across my entire network also... if enough people do this it will definitely get some attention... it is the only way we have to get our side of the story out so that Johnny Public hears it

Leon 2005-06-15 06:22 AM
