How am I getting ripped off here?
 

I asked this question once before, but that was prior to the board crash we had awhile back and I went to search for the answers and they were no longer there. So sorry for the repeat, I just couldn't remember the answer.

Someone stole this gallery of mine, left my link code in and even got a sale. How is this detrimental to me? And what's in it for them?

They submit your gallery under their name.

They use script to redirect and trap surfers.

Their cheating is detected. Your sponsor code gets blacklisted.

They steal another gallery and do it again. Since they make their money theiving, they don't care one way or the other.

You are screwed, and can't do anything about it.

You can email the TGP owners on there and tell them about it so they will know and blacklist the guy. Hopefully they will tell other tgps owners for you.

Yes, basically, this is identity theft. Gallery reviewers get used to seeing certain templates and webmaster names and always approve those galleries. Gallery cheaters steal your gallery template and sometimes your name as well and submit their version of your gallery, later redirecting it.

Often you will end up blacklisted for their cheating. But it's harder to blacklist them as they usually have mulitple ips/hosting/e-mail addresses and are stealing and submitting dozens or hundreds of galleries per day, usually auto-submitted through services such as Russian Submitter (which is how auto-submission got a bad name to begin with).
