Dare - totally agree - that race sucked because of that and I was just hoping he would land on his head to give us something worth watching :)

I prefer the British version of "stock car" racing. Ordinary cars, so old and beat up that they are no longer good enough to drive on the road get fixed up and driven round the track by people who don't much care for rules. First past the post wins, sometimes that means the only car still going.

In one of my favourite races (at Yarmouth stadium), two cars collided and the engine of one burst into flames. That did not stop the guy, he drove on, and won the race while still on fire. That takes real guts (and a fair amount of insanity).

ecchi - thats what it used to be like in Nascar over here - until the sponsors and big money came along

I like the Green-White-Checkered over the way it was last year with them finishing under caution regardless - at least they get a chance to have a real finish.

Yesterday was a bit anti climatic, but I was sorta rooting for Edwards to win so that I could then root for him to not make the flip out of the car :D
