Just got an e-mail from ARS..
So it looks like they want webmasters to remove the free content. I've submitted to you guys with their content, if I delete the sites, will I get blacklisted?
|
So far everyone here has pretty much agreed to a "delete/no blacklist" policy for sites 404ing to straight 404 pages. If you have a custom 404 page with ads that's a different matter. I suggest anyone pull their custom 404 pages for a couple weeks if they're deleting sites :)
|
Thanks MadMax, I'll remove that now..
|
Just post in the other thread that you are removing sites. Or simply let it all go 404 with no redirect preferably and that will work too.
|
I've set it so that it doesn't redirect, but if I put a redirect to the domain index will that be okay? If not, I totally understand..
|
I'm just deleted all the sites that my bot flags as going 404, no dns, or whatever without even looking at them.
|
I think webmasters should start a list of freesites that do blacklist for deleting pages. This is not the fault of the affilaites and do not deserve blacklisting for following the law.
|
Free sites that go 404 will NOT be blacklisted on our LL's...
|
Why not make a site which simply explain the 2257 problem in a few lines and add a back button in the bottom.
This way LL/TGPs won't be loaded with 404s but the surfer will know the problem and understand why their favorite LL/TGP suddenly have a lot of 404 gals. |
Why not change it for a page of text, telling the surfer about the sponsors site, SEO the text and take down the pics.
A note about 2257 might come in hady as why this is happening. |

How about Angels content? I have a site or two that I did with her.. |
Your best bet is to 404 or 302 the site/page in question, since most of us are NOT blacklisting for this over the next few weeks.
If you leave a page up there that has a 2257 statement or sponsor links or both, you're going to fuck yourself in the eyes of the link lists, because as soon as they start to check the sites by hand & find a shitload of pages that are 2257 info & ads, I know I will be blacklisting those, mostly because I want all the links on my site to actually work. I can easily remove 302's & 404's, which means that all the links will go to what they say they are going to. If you want to put up some sort of 2257 stuff or sponsor ad, 302 the sites to a page that has that info - that would solve the problem on both ends & everyone would be happy :) |

As far as Angel's content we are NOT planing on releasing talent's personal information to webmasters. We have everything on file if a legal need ever arises, like a court order, but not do to this administration’s draconian intrusion into our personal rights saying that talent's personal information should be made available to all including wackos, sickos, and anyone and everyone that wants it. If you are not comfortable with this then you should remove all your FoxyAngel free content. Did I mention that I'm with Jim on the 2257 draconian law? |
thank you for explaining here it just made my day:D pffffffff (stu<----will not mention gg had to explain this dutch stupid again on icq)me happy camper...you all dont know how happy |bananna|

I was just wondering if we'll still be allowed to use it, because if not I was going to delete those sites as well.. But, since nothing needs to happen at this time the sites will be staying up.. :) Thanks GG, I'll probably end up just 404'en the ones that I did for ARS since they are asking people to remove it. |
