Question For Linklist Owner

Hi,

I run a linklist - and I just spent a day going through 3800 links by hand, one by one, to weed out 404's, redirects and scammers.

My question is - how do other LL owners keep up with this? Do you have a system or am I just SOL and that's the way it has to be done? |angry|

I use a Link Bot, but I also regularly surf my own link list and catch a lot of crap that way.

Cleo - thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

But generally I got the message - SOL! :)

I, like Cleo, use a link bot every day to weed out the 404's & 302's & other errors - but like Danger Dave said, the best "link bot" is the human eye :)

Thanks, GG, I understand. But the linkbot will help make it a shorter deal, so that's something. :)

I think that the GreenGuy is missing out on a real financial opportunity by not having MrMaryLou cloned.

Never have to review or check links at mrmarylou-o-rama.com where everyone can browse and shop for their very own MrMaryLou. Optional package includes one year of feeding and grooming supplies plus replacement boob hats.

Coming soon next year, BitchyCleoClones.com for everyone that needs a little bitch in their lives.

It's all good…

Like the others I run a link bot several times a day, and check them by hand once a week. :)

The human eye just sees things that bots never notice...

Running a bot regularly will makes it much easier to review sites by hand afterwards. if the bot is your own, you might want to have it extract information and store it on each listing, and if those parameters change, you can be flagged and look at the site again. Things like page size, last updated date, number of images, number of links off, etc are all good "tips" that something is going on.

In the end, the bot can only get rid of the VERY obvious, and it can help you guide your eyes for the best use of your time possible.
