Frust with hosted movie galleries going 404 - 2257 spnonsor panik?

For my weekly update I just wanted to get some new hosted movie galleries, but what a frustration:

Silvercash's hosted movie galleries had all content links go 404! I checked over 30 of them.
Karup's gallery links went straight to a 404 error! I gave up after about 6 or 7...

I didn't visit other sponsors, but I feel I should now spend hours checking each and every hosted gallery link in my TGP database.

If this is the sponsor's way to be be 2257 compliant then it's a rather poor way of doing so, particularly since none of them send an email or bothered to inform webmasters on their affiliate pages!

Imagine how your sales and the rate of bookmarkers will go down the drain once the surfers are too frustrated with links you're providing on your site...

So be warned: DON'T RELY ON HOSTED GALLERIES FOR YOUR TGP UPDATES unless you've checked recently that the galleries AND their content are still alive!

That's the only place where I use them - but the linkchecker of AutoGallery SQL doesn't check permanent (=rotating) galleries, and anyhow: as in the case of Silvercash (where pages are up, only the movies go 404) - I usually don't check all outgoing links on sponsor galleries (to the individual movies) as long as the page looks o.k.

Just checked some of mine after reading this and sure as hell, the movies are 404. And our affiliate id isn't even carried over to the 404 page either. |angry|
