Digibucks guys are broke. Stop your traffic!

Actually do what ever you want but I must warn you: digibucks is broke!
I won 1000$ in their contest on one board back in april but check I received more than month later bounced so I did little investigation whats going on and found out that they are broke.
Well, I don't care to much about that 1k because I didn't do any work for that money but the way how they treated me borders me. All they had to do was to send me simple email explaining me whats going on. I've been broke in life myself so I would wait for money as much as they need to get it but no... they not have time to reply on emails because they acting like "big boys" on boards.
Funny thing is they payed out at least one guy who threatened them to post on boards that theyre broke! Well, its not my style, I don't want blackmailing anyone to get my own money.

Again, I don't care about 1k, they can keep it. Just want to warn you what may happen to you if youre sending traffic to their sites. Do as you like but they are broke.

Thanks for your time :)

I agree, at another board it's turned into a 5 page thread already. Iggy, you sent Digibucks only 2 emails, you never contacted them on ICQ about your money and then you decide to bitch about it on 10 boards?
I used to respect you because you were always helping out newbies, now you're way out of line.

theres whole story at gfy. I am done with this and I am not posting any more comments about it

chilihost 2005-07-04 10:08 PM

I always worry about someone saying that a sponsor is broke because of a problem check. With ultracash once, we sent out over 3000 checks with the wrong account number on them. There was word all over that we were bouncing checks. Even if a check did bounce, it doesn't mean a program is broke.

Not wanting to get dragged into this unfortunate mess...

Its interesting seeing the responses on all the different boards. On netpond, here and a couple of others it was a case of .. step back, think about it and work though the problem, but on many boards including GFY it was a case of getting your sig in, keep the drama going and gleefully try to tear the sponsor and all the parties involved down

Running contests on adult webmaster boards is a high risk occupation. You need to make sure that winners get their winnings, or you need to have a good reason for not paying them.

Head Boy and others have point..but would love to hear Digibucks side!

Their side was, the check bounced because they were changing banks, they sent him emails and he didn't get them, and they didn't get the emails he sent them.

Same story with a number of other winners in the same contest.

Digibucks also said (backed up by a number of webmasters) that since they use CCbill for affiliate payouts, all their affiliates get paid and always have.

They also hinted that since Iggysick signed up for their program (as per the contest rules) but didn't actually send them hits(NOT a requirement of the rules), he didn't really have a right to complain about the fact that he didn't get the $1,000 they promised as a prize.

They have promised to pay out all prizes by tomorrow and settle the matter.

By the way, there was a similar drama recently involving a sponsor who has failed to pay for message board advertising. Why is it always the people who owe money that mysteriously lose their messages?

Thanks for the update.

But one thing Digibucks might want to NOT do is say "he didn't really have a right to complain about the fact that he didn't get the $1,000" since he doesn't promote them. They did have a contest. LOL

Is this information from a direct quote? If it's from direct quotes then it's a BIG issue.

emmanuelle 2005-07-05 12:45 PM

but... but... but.... Then who owns the sportscar on the front of their program? :D

this is from a post on GFY don't know if he did the same post on all the boards

"The competition I ran on GFY was aimed at trying to promote our program with the hope that people would have some fun, win some money and send us traffic. Iggy obviously didn’t see it like this. It was nothing but a pure money making opportunity to him. He signed up for digibucks won the competition but to this day has never sent us a single hit then decided it was a good idea to start this thread telling everyone else not to send us traffic without even contacting me to try and resolve the issue.

Boohoo for them. Pay people as promised or get your ass dragged through the mud. That's how it works. If you only want to pay someone who is sending you traffic, then don't run stupid contests that don't require sales to win. Of course, I personally never bother with contests that require sales because I know I can't win.

That's like us complaining that a member with 3 posts wins a contest |couch|

Complaining is fine - it's the not paying that is the problem. The $10,000 winner of a contest on another board stopped posting just after her win, but she got paid. I've complained a few times about that, and it's not even my money. :D

Check bounced like month ago. Thats enough time to ask some questions around and collect all pieces of story. I did my homework before I posted this.
