So what's a Free Site good for anyway?

:) Okay, while I'm thinking about it this morning, there is one
more question I have for everyone here, and that's this one:

"What's a Free Site good for?"

What I mean by this is that probably everyone here knows that
you can build a nice free site and submit it to a link list.

And maybe most folks know that you can make your own "hub"
page to list the sites you build.

But aside from that, what else are free sites good for?

Are there some other things you do with the free sites you
build, besides submitting them to Link Lists? Or do you just
build them, submit them, put them on your hub page and
move on to building more?

And to take this one step further, what can someone who is
not a Link List owner do with all of the sponsor hosted free
sites that are available? Are there some ways that non-LL
owners can make use of them?

Any and all tips appreciated here.

I think you answered your own question. Non LL owners can use them for their hubs. And LL owners with hubs too ;)

With a little cinnamon, sugar, and butter on them they also make a tasty before bedtime snack. |potleaf|

Except for the cumshot sites, they taste bitter…

I have a couple of hubs set up just like a link list and list all my own sites and decent sponsor hosted freesites, They might not get too many clicks but I do make sales off of them :) I have all of your freesites added to my hubs :D

i have a few uses other than stuffing the LL or our hubs...

Maybe we should have an OTB session on other things to do with free sites..

if you build enough of them you can feed traffic to other projects for feeder traffic a link out to a hub or what not and 2 to the sponsor...

Surfn ~ Yep, in fact I kept answering my own questions that way for the last couple of weeks whenever I thought about this. So I finally put it on my list of things I better ask about since there has to be plenty I don't know. :)

Sy ~ Okay, another vote for hubs. I guess everyone needs to have a hub.
(And thanks for adding our free sites there!) |thumb

Holly ~ Sure, an OTB might be a good way to get more ideas generated. :)
(But feel free to share anything you want to here too.)

Plateman ~ Okay, so the links on them can be used to drive traffic to places other than sponsors, link lists and hubs...thanks!

More feedback welcome.

P.S. Cleo, if you insist on snacking on cumshot sites before bedtime, I've heard you need to check for asparagus consumption in their recent past. :D

You can also submit them to places like DMOZ where once listed they also get listed in Googles Directory. Provides for better linkbacks and eventually organic SE listings :)

..and let's not forget that every Free Site has 2 pre-made galleries that you can touch up & submit to TGP's :)

Greenguy ~
Oh man, I thought someone had hacked the board when I saw your avatar over there!
Must have been one hell of a |party2

Good advice on not forgetting about the 2 pre-made galleries. I have some questions for another thread about that one.

Linkster - Great advice, I sure don't want to forget those dmoz listings, and that has been something we've neglected. (I wonder if any of our affiliate webmasters are capitalizing on this one already?)

Okay, so far it sounds like Free Sites are definitely good for a limited number of very good things.

Now I'm wondering if Holly's going to let this thread die before revealing any of those "other uses" she alluded to earlier here. ;)
