Payment through ePassporte sucks !

Hi guys,

I set up an ePassporte account for one sponsor, I have about $700 in there now. I ordered something from NewEgg and it was declined because the credit card was not issued by an American bank.

What the fuck am I supposed to do with the money in there ?

This sucks.

Get a real epassport debit card.

Surfn 2005-07-29 12:38 PM

I've had NO problems with my account |thumb

I gave up trying to use the electron card online because it was so hit & miss - just get the ATM card & spend the cash on what you want or hook up your bank account to it & transfer the money there.

Same here. I could not even waste my money at iTunes with the electron card. Now I just transfer the little money I get to my bank. :)

For online purchases you guys should use your "Virtual" rather than "Electron" (I was told a while back). I usually just transfer the money to my bank account :D

Rui 2005-07-29 04:19 PM

Wrong ePass is one of the best things it happened in this business... :D

/me loves ePass :D

I agree epassporte is great, and lets give a big fuck you to PayPal.

Now the electron is crap, i dont know the deal, but ive spoken to my bank and they say you can use it online :( ???? like what the fuck else are you going to do with it ;)

MadMax 2005-07-29 05:27 PM

Just hook your bank account up and transfer the cash there :)

One of my sponsors just switched from paypal & checks to epassporte and a few other options. I just got an epassporte account a week ago. I hope I have a good experience. Paypal has always worked out well for me.

Actually, I meant to say "virtual" for the online comments - kinda hard to use a "virtual" card at the grocery store :D

The 1st time I tried to use the "electron" card was at a gas pump - the guy inside came running out because he had no idea what kind of card I was using & never saw the error code that it produced on his screen....he assumed I was stealing gad :D

Yup. The ONLY place I use the virtual card is godaddy because they take it and I'm a domain junky.

Otherwise, I withdraw from the ATM it or sweep it to my bank in 2 days.

Heck, even my daughter has a card that I set up for her. I give her some money she can withdraw at the mall or wherever and when it's gone it's gone :)
It works great :)

Once you get used to epassporte you'll love it. I prefer epassporte payment to checks myself. It's great to get paid instantly on payday.:)

Their load fees are outrageous...

$5 per $100 or part thereof... oh come now!

$100 in = 5% fee
$110 in = 9% fee

That doesn't sound right...sounds like some alien fees ;)

I buy all my books, DVD's and occasionally some content with my virtual ePassporte account. Because I live in europe I can't transfer it to my bank account. Other than that I have no complaints about ePassporte.
And BTW, never had any problems with paypal either, still use them frequently.

amadman 2005-07-30 09:23 AM

ePassporte works for me.

I tried newegg with no success along with a couple other things I tried(sucks because your money can get tied up for 30 days). But it has worked for more than not. Plus I dont have any other way of charging stuff online. So I will take what I can get. :)

Surfn 2005-07-30 09:41 AM

I transfer money to bank accounts every two or three days just leaving a few hundred balance. I've used the Visa card everywhere I use my bank Visa, probably more.

Emperor 2005-07-30 01:20 PM

Hi guys,

I guess I should have said the 'virtual' card sucks. I was really just going to use it to order stuff online but if it's hit or miss I'm not going to look for places that accept it.

I just bought a Nikon Coolpix 5900 from NewEgg, I could probably have searched around and found a place that sells it and also accepts ePassporte but I don't want to have to buy from other places just because of that.

So I just paid the extra to get the 'electron' physical card, I'll just get a PIN and withdraw cash from the ATM and either use it or deposit it in my bank account.

I'm pretty sure the ATM can give out $500 a day so a $2 withdrawal fee isn't bad at all.

So all in all ePassporte is very good, I just wish their 'virtual' Visa worked like any other Visa, I was rather surprised that it didn't.

Take care.

digifan 2005-07-30 01:48 PM

I have never had problems online so far, be it content, books etc... most softwares can handle the virtual visa as a real one.

troy 2005-07-30 06:16 PM

Epassporte works fine for me.

morruga 2005-07-30 06:31 PM

oil 2005-07-30 08:21 PM
