Promoting my site with different content?

I recently discovered someone promoting my paysite with content that's not mine!

Here's the gallery they built:
http://www.hornybuttsluts.com/galler...ootsies/20.htm

Is this a common practice?

I'm just worried someone will join expecting to see more of what they were teased with and they'll be a bit upset when they don't find what they thought they would.

Should I just delete him from my affilite list at CCBill? Can this be done? I never had to do this before.

Thanks,

Bill

As a freesite builder, I always use purchased content, so the model they see on my site is not the model they will get at the paysite. Unless it's a single model site, if the content is relevant to the niche, I don't see any problem with that.

Having said that - with this site, the text suggests to me that I WOULD see this model at the paysite, which could cause some problems. I am always careful about what text I use to promote a site & try to use content that reflects the models they will see.

There's another thread about this type of thing here

Christ Tortus - what the hell are ya doing man? You have a shoe site, an affiliate took the time and effort to build and submit a gallery with niche-appropriate content - and you just fucked them and YOURSELF by deleting their account. Using purchased content is very common and, if you'd read the board, you'd know that it's a highly suggested practice by link list and TGP owners. I can't believe that you didn't know that. You really need to learn some of the basics of how paysites are promoted before running an affiliate program.

Hi Tortus,

Something you may want to consider.

As a sponsor, whenever we find someone who's promoting us with content that they've purchased, we contact them to find out where they got the content. If it's good content, we usually buy it and add it to the members' area.

That way we have more content for members (and often more content for our hosted free sites), plus no unhappy surfers joining from free sites where they saw something that's not available inside the paysite.

Even with an 'exclusive content' paysite, you can have an area with additional purchased content that's presented as a bonus for your members.

Good luck with your program.

That content seems fine to me.. a lot like your own stuff. We have to buy content for free sites because linklists prefer it. Tortus you just let a lot of ppl know not to sign up to your program.. well done! |thumb

Whoa now people, lets not be too quick to judge here.

First, Bill didn't say he'd deleted the account, he was asking if he should.

Second, knowing a bit about his site I can understand his concern about charge backs. The model in the gallery is significantly older than the models Bill uses, and she's also showing some "pink", which surfers will not find inside the site.

This situation isn't drastically different than promoting single girl sites, and Bill does provide ample promo content that is updated frequently.

A quick email to the affiliate in question would have been the most professional way to address this issue.

Just my 2 cents

If you clicked on any of the links within that gallery yesterday, you'd have seen that he had suspended the affiliate's account. All of the sponsor links landed on the CCBill error page reporting that the affiliate code wasn't recognized. Today, he/she is active again. Bill jumped the gun out of inexperience. I think it's only fair to expect that one's sponsors should understand the basics of how gallery/free site promotions are conducted before taking on affiliates. I mean, this is the most basic form of promotion here.

And on the content - there are three partial-face shots and one full shot of the model's face, and even that isn't clear. Otherwise, it's all feet and legs. No one is going to become infatuated enough over that to join in search of more of that pixelated face in the background. ;)

C'mon, we're not talking about a huge multi-site sponsor program. Bill isn't the first and certainly won't be the last to learn it as he goes. I've sent email to more that a few single site sponsors pointing out some very basic things that were amiss with their program.

Bill came here asking for advice, to find out what was the right thing to do and instead he's been chastised for not already knowing. As long as he gets it right in the end, that's really the only thing that's important.

Just my 2¢ worth

IMO if he wanted advice he shouldnt have posted someones domain in cheaters forum... if it was mine I would be mighty pissed!

Live and learn.

This happens with FoxyAngel from time to time. While we are never real pleased when someone implies that the model in the sample pics will also be found inside when the model isn't we just go and buy that set of pics so that the model really is inside.

Surfer is happy because we went out of our way to find something for them. Affiliate is happy because the surfer rebills. Angel and I are happy because we have money in our bank accounts.

Really with recurring it is in the interest of the affiliate to be honest about what the surfer will find once they join.

Now with pay per join anything goes and that is why I always tell my surfers that not only do they get 20 terabytes of content but that all the models will take turns personally coming to their home, either in groups of one at a time, and get them off as many times as they like if they just join here.
