Need a favour here
 

OK so I got a spam email this morning on opening my inbox which I suspect leads to a c - p site by the wording of the mail, and the name of the url. I'm afraid to say I'm a bit of a chicken shit and don't think I could handle it if I click on the link and it is indeed such a site.

Would you report the link anyway to asacp? I don't want to waste their valuable time if it isn't, but my conscience won't let me just delete the mail in case it is.

Also I don't want to appear like the boy who cried wolf - if I get another and another and do the same, when they are legal sites, the asacp may think 'him again - waste of time' and ignore what may one day be such a site.

Another thing - it's hosted on geocities - what if I report the url to yahoo for being a porn site - would they actually bother to check it out, and if it's such a site they would have more sway in reporting in turn to fbi or whoever, and have a chance on seeing which ip was uploading files?

Last time I reported one of those sites to asacp, they wanted a specific url of where actual c-p existed. Since there was no way I was going into the site, I reported the root url. No idea if they ever actually checked out the site though =/

Yeah, I also previously reported a root url rather than a specific url with that on, like yourself I wasn't going in to see what was where, which is part of the reason I haven't just gone and reported it there already (see cry wolf comment earlier).

I believe there's a member here who is close to asacp though, if memory serves correctly, hopefully they'll be around today and can hep out some.

Yeah, it was weird reading the one report in the post about the 24% tax. Apparently one of the main C/P reporting sites doesn't have immunity from prosecution. So everything becomes handled secondhand.

Dude I hate fucking spam. Think about it how much of that shit do you get in the mail every day? How much easier would your job be if you were not running to the BING BONG every time you got a email. Also look at it this way. Pussycash just paid out over 1/2 mil to the courts for shit like this. Not that I'm telling you to save them money but if you like the sponser and want to keep doing business with them in the future you should report it. They may not know whats up and I'm sure they would not want to have to deal with the courts. Every sponser I went to said they do not allow spam. If they do on the down low thats one thing. But shit help everyone out with this mailbox filling crap.

I agree with you! To define a specific URL you need to watch CP what is a criminal offense itself.

Reported it to the asacp and to the guy who sold me the traffic, you'd think he'd want to know who he was buying hits from...
