I don't know what auto "tagging" is, I haven't heard of it.

Auto pinging is something blog software does when you enter a post. The blog "pings" a group of aggregators with it's updated xml and rss feed.

There's a place in the wordpress options that lets you chose the places to ping. It's usually preloaded with ping-o-matic, which sends the piongs to a group of the biggest aggregators.

If that's not what you are talking about, well, you'll need to ask somebody more expert.
