Am I a Hypocrite?
 

Most of you don't know this but a couple months ago I opened up a gaming shop in my home town. This shop has attracted a good number of local children around middle school age.

Yesterday there was a group of these kids acting up and looking out the large window of the shop. When I looked to see what they were intrested in I noticed that the apartment on the second level across the street had its window open and had a porn video showing on a large tv directly in front of the window. This was noticable from almost every where in the shop all you had to do was look.

I didnt want these kids to have access to this and I did not dare to go to the appartment myself. So I walked to the copshop and asked if they could go to the apartment and ask them to close the curtains or shades on the window because of all the kids that could see it.

The cops showed up and they did put up a sheet over the window though they harrased me and a few of the kids as we left that afternoon.

Anyway... It just seems funny that I find myself making problems with people watching porn when I promote it myself.

Promoting porn to consenting adults and preventing children from seeing it are two very different things.

I would of done the same thing.

Given the circumstances, I probably would have done the same thing.

Or, perhaps kicked the kids out of my shop and charged adults admission to watch the show :D

Way back when I had a video shop (years ago) I lost one of my best customers because I found out he was showing the porn videos he was renting from me to kids (he told me this himself). I refused to rent him any more after I found that out.

I didnt even think about it at the time. I just did what I though had to be done. Then it struck me kind of funny later.

I talked to the officer and he said the guy was a previous sex offender and may have even been doing it on purpose. If it happens again then I will try to get him thrown in jail.

Ya did the right thing.
