Question about 2257 links on freesites

I know this has probably been discussed here before, but I am goign to ask it anyway. I was wondering what other linklist owners think about submitters putting a link to 2257 info and using the sponsor 2257 page. I know most linklists are requiring a 2257 link on the freesites, but are you allowing the link to go to the sponsor 2257? I am torn on this one... yes the link is there, but it isn't to THEIR info...... What are your thoughts?

I've been seeing more free sites submitted with their 2257 link going to the sponsors 2257 info. That's generally fine with me as long as there aren't any sponsor ads on the page.

If it goes to record holder I don't see a problem. If it goes to a sponsor site I do have a problem.

I don't require that link anyway.

Actually, MOST don't require a 2257 link because it's not our worry. My only concern with 2257 links is that it does not open in a new window and does not have any links to the sponsor's sites on that page. Otherwise, I don't care if you choose to create a copy on your domain or point directly to the sponsor's page.

What he said :D
It's mainly Thumb TGP's that require a 2257 link, cause they show part of the gallery in the thumb... Linklists have no problem cause they only use text links...
I simply don't submit to linklists that require a 2257 link.

But I've been submitting to TGP for a few years now, and they seem to be okay with the fact that it's located on the sponsors domain instead of your own.

say a site required a 2257 link...would you want it on the index page or on the gallery pages?

If the 2257 is linked to a page I count it as one of your 4 links. Why waste a sales opportunity?

And it it isn't linked it simply looks tacky on a gallery page and I most likely would hit reject.

Anyone linking to sponsor's 2257 info wouldn't be compliant with the current interpretation of the new regs anyway, so why bother?

On the index. I see some people putting it in all four pages and I just assume that they got a hold of some bad crack.

I allow legal type links like this, as long as they don't pop a new window & the page that they go to has no ads.

I only put up a 2257 link on my free sites when I'm drunk :)

UW, you make it sound like a little crack rock here and there is a bad thing?
