Do I need to be html and css expert to use Wordpress?

Or is Wordpress even the best option for a blogging beginner?

I've done a lot of looking around and the blogs with the most variety of design seem to be in Wordpress, but maybe there's other options I'm not aware of that can be modified or 'themed'.

I have lots of questions...should I be asking on the 'newbie' board instead of here?

WP is probably one of the easiest scripts I've ever installed. Tons of themes (skins) are freely available and the CSS can easily be edited from within the admin.

it is a very easy script but if I was newbie I would start with blogger...with a little css knowedge its easy to change the colors and what not...but I just started using word press and im loving it

I haven't seen as many Blogger sites that have such adventuresome design work as I've seen on WP, so if it's not too difficult I'm leaning that way. Not quite ready to jump in yet, but good to know you are willing to answer my questions. Thanks :)

if you need any help...this board seems to have all the answers...and the script isn't too hard to install, I think any good host will even install it for you

Even though I am very happy with Bblog and wouldn't change now, had I know then what I know now, I would have started out with Wordpress. With their large template library, it must be pretty easy to get a blog up and running and looking good.

And from what I can tell from all the posts, it seems to have almost all of the features an 'adult' blogger would want!

Sounds like if I go ahead with WordPress I'll have somewhere to ask all my newbie questions. Very nice to know. :)
