Best Position on the Recip Table ...

On a 9x9 recip table, which position is best and which is worst for receiving traffic? Just wondering.

I would say first row middle and right...
Just visit some freesites and check were you look at first.

Preacher 2005-09-22 03:33 PM

I would say first row left in a 3x3, but I'm just happy seeing my recip anywhere on the page. ;)

I think 81 recips is a bit too much. ;)

I order my recips alphabetically, so no one can bitch at me for giving them a "better" position lol ;)

LOL!!! I meant 3x3 of coourse. Rest assured my tables are never 9x9. Now 8x8 ....

I tend to believe that the lower right hand corner is best. Why? It's closest to the mouse hand.

ArtWilliams 2005-09-22 04:55 PM

The reason I ask is that I submitted a free site today and a number of LLs say "give a good position on your recip table" and I was wondering just what that might be. I also thought well not everyone can have the best spot, you've got to be willing to take every spot at least on occassion. ---art

Another factor is what recips are in the table. If you have a plain text link recip, it really doesn't matter where its at in the table if the one right next to it is a large, bright, flashing marquee with 37 rainbow colored links scrolling by. People arent going to notice yours.

I don't think it really matters to surfers. I know it doesn't matter to me. I think they click either everything or the ones that look appealing. What appeals to one doesn't necessarily appeal to another.

I agree. If I had to pick, actually I'd pick bottom row center, which is usually directly above the enter link, but I don't think it really makes any difference and I'd certainly never decline a site because of the location of my recip in a recip table :)

I also think position really doesn't matter. The biggest, eye catching recip might get a few extra clicks - which could be an argument for encouraging submitters to make their own text recips.

Anywhere inside the 3x3 would be fine for me! |bananna|

I also think the appeal/eye catching plays bigger role than position

btw, Art Williams, is Art your real name? If yes, is it a full name?

Exactly what I was thinking ;)

Lisa.

I would say that it doesnt matter one bit as the traffic is negligible and if a LL is depending on recip traffic and still have the balls to request a specific position on a recip table they are a long way away from my submit list :)

Agreed 100% on both counts.

Bingo.

We also demand that submitters be dancing on one leg and chanting "who loves ya baby" when they submit.

Nah, I don't go that far :)

But, they do have to submit their women for...errr...testing :D

As far as position in a recip table...don't think it makes a bit of difference. As Linkster noted, traffic from recips is negligible.
