I need your advice please
 

So I bought a doman in 2003 and started a free site on it but I was very noob so put it away.

Last summer I launched it as a tgp - no skim, popups so even if it is not a daily 100K tgp my surfers like me and bookmark.
My partners like my prod too I was told and all I am using for trades are big thumbs with links under them.

I have no idea why Alexa says I have no sites linking in or backlinks but see this report please

digifan, don't worry about it. Alexa is crap. It sucks more than my wife did during her freshman year at college.

I don't know what/why you're considering copying your main page. Have me confused there.

I do have one minor suggestion that has nothing to do with the topic. Move that counter to the bottom of the page where it belongs. Counter sites that tell you that you get more accurate readings if you place their counter on top your page are full so shit. As the long as the surfer allows your site to load, the counter will work fine at the bottom.

You have 100s of back links to you when checking other methods so why worry about it? Alexa doesn't use search or robots it uses it's only little spyware application that most surfers don't use. While I look at Alexa from time to time I don't put a lot of wieght into it. I certainly wouldn't change any thing just to make my Alexa results look better.

i'm no expert when it comes to this but maybe because the links coming in to you are skimmed hits coming from a script and not hard links

I for one think warning pages are a PITA and I personally ask all trade partners to link to my main page yes.

You are right SirMoby all other methods show the 100's of backlinks except Alexa.

Hmm let's say someone wants to buy the site with me as a webmistress but wants me show him at least 3 big sites linking to me under backlinks at Alexa... what would you do?

It looks so weird now.... you know it had a sort of pshychological effect on the surfer/trade partner being ranked #2 in Fetish with them...... and old school webmaster recommended it :)

Let me explain more clearly.
Most of your trades linking to you are going thru a trade script.

etc etc

I'm not 100% sure but I think those style links wont register.

I checked the first 12 or so under your "our friends" and found 1 hardlink on http://www.thumbangels.com/

I see sorry then I misunderstood you... it is weird because my site is ranked #21 in the left coloumn of http://angelslinks.com atm and does well plus yesterday got a thumb in the middle.. the very first one.
If yo check Milkman I too have a link under friends etc.
Annasdungeon links to me also.. so does bondagepaper as goth-fetish teens and the others too, the lighthouse sites, stocking-mania, well-heeled babes, vixen fetish etc.
That new trade partner, angelteenagers uses the raptor script so if you visit it from my site you won't see mine listed, you have to visit it let's say www.kittysangels.com

Is there anything I can do about it? I mean milkmanbook.com or annasdungeon.com use the ucj script and they have a lot of sites linked in... I am using clickzs.

again i am not an expert but a spider is not going to read that as a link to goth-fetish, it's just going to see it as another milkman link

One last try.. none of the above sites have a traffic leak called warning page... so without being a pain for my trade partners I am dropping my current index and use my main page as index page.. that's the plan.

And I'm real sick.. so sorry for participating less lately.

I don't really see why so much emphasis is placed on Alexa anyways. It is so easy to manipulate the numbers on it. For example, when I added the Alexa toolbar to my site about 2 months ago, my site was ranked 1 million+. Since I work on it almost every day, each page I work on counts as a hit. Now I am ranked somewhere around 80,000 and dropping. Granted I have set up traffic trades which push about 10,000 hits a day through it as well as I actively promote the site, but I really think it has to do with the amount of time I spend there!

If you look at Google, the site doesn't even have a PR ranking (which that is what I don't understand since I do have sites linking back to it) :(

If you want to do hard link trades, a good auto link trader script is at linkxxxchange.com you can also delete the cheaters that don't put the link back the way you specify on the rules page..just an idea.
