Seperate accounts at sponsors

Hi,
I am just wondering if people use seperate accounts with sponsors. For example - one for gallery traffic and one for SE and free site traffic.

The reason for me to ask is that when I started up in this business I made free sites and had good free sites ratios. Then I wanted to advance and started to submit galleries as well. The ratio dropped of course because of the gallery traffic that normally converts not as good. But at some places the ratios dropped really bad.

During the last months I did a bit of reconstruction of my online stuff and removed a lot of galleries (with the permission of the gallery site owners), but I still had the high convertion rates even that I only send SE and free site traffic.

At one place it really looked like I got shut off compleately after starting sending gallery traffic. I got sales the first two weeks and after that it just did not sell at all.

I dont understand it, but I am still a newbie so it might be just me that are doing it wrong.

So, then I wonder if it would be better to have seperate accounts for the different traffic?

Thanks,
Kalle

I tried that with Siccash, and they emailed me saying that it was against their Terms, and I had to decide which account to keep.

Many sponsors have a method for defining your own promo campaigns so you can track the stats separately on one account.

Urb: Oh, against their terms. Perhaps all sponsors have that rule. Gotta check that.

Toby: That sounds exactly what I am looking for. Any suggestions of sponsors that have that option?

I just got an message from someone telling me about some system called NATS. I just gotta figure what it is first lol

Thanks

I signed up Javes for a shit load of sponsors when it first opened and now there are some sponsors that I can't sign up for because they've logged my IP. So, sometimes you won't even have the ability to sign up redundantly.

Hi Kalle,
TCG you can set up sub-accounts, not sure on any others without looking.

Surfn 2005-09-29 09:09 AM

Some sponsors will work with you setting up separate accounts. Especially when you know the owners and send signups :D

Ewww! Can I have your autograph? :D

UW: Thanks, that is good to know |thumb

Jel: |waves| Thanks for the info. My traffic is not doing very well with them so I am working on directing the traffic to somewhere else. I have got some other sponsors that I am doing the same thing with also.

Surfn: lol - Well, I dont know many owners, but I send sign-ups :D

Most will let you have additional accounts - we use several for tracking purposes and have never had a request refused. Some care much more than others about the additionals so the best advice is always to talk to them first.

kalle7 2005-09-29 09:44 AM

Jeremy: That is good advice. I will sit down and pick out the sponsors that I will want to work with in the future and ask them about it.

kalle7 2005-09-29 09:51 AM

Just found out about that NATS thing. Looks like I already have some sponsors using that lol |loony| It lets you track the traffic from different kind of sources in the same system.

I will sit down and find sponsors using that system and consentrate on them in addition to those that dont have it, but will let me have seperate accounts. Those I will pick to push in the future (if I get good ratios lol)

I've seen a lot that have a "campaign" option where you can assign a number or letters to each link code so that it's tracked separately from the total stats.

Same here, although I've only tried it a couple of times on two different sponsors to see if it worked. And it did.

Thanks GG and Surfn. I will look around and see what I can find at the different sponsors. I need to get some more info about my traffic cause I dont want more days like yesterday with 1:2570 in total lol

I think most are ok with it. They'll probably just have you use the same name/address/etc. when you join with another account. And dont click your own referral link, lol :)

That's exactly what we do, I always give freesites a unique tracking id, gives a good overview from what converts and what not |thumb

We also give you the ability to set up sub accounts to keep track of your various campaigns.
