Yeah, I just read that. Not surprising given what he films. And while not eveyone agrees with his content, I bet he will give the government a good fight, as I've yet to see him back down to any controversary or scathing review or testimony.

RawAlex 2005-10-05 05:50 PM

... and there it starts.

Didn't take them long, did it?

You film peeing? You film material degrading to women? Get ready for the knock on the door.

DOJ is as usual clueless as it comes. Picks the guy with the most money and the most lawyers available to fight. Oh well!

You almost make it sound as if that is a bad thing....for us at any rate. :D

Cleo 2005-10-05 07:37 PM

Who could that be knocking at my door…

porndragon 2005-10-05 07:48 PM

lol go get em max :P

ponyman 2005-10-05 09:56 PM

This is going to be a great story to follow! Go Max!

Boogie 2005-10-05 10:06 PM

I like how the FBI basically picked the wrong person to fuck with. very excited. Couldnt have worked out better if they'd slapped larry flynt around back in his glory years.

porndragon 2005-10-05 10:36 PM

Hmm and still no coverage on cnn or the major station anyone else think the goverment blacked out these actions?

Linkster 2005-10-05 11:39 PM

Most important - they are going after 5 specific titles of his - and he's been through this before with them so nothing really new on the block - interesting that they are trying to duplicate a previous action they have taken

Very true...bottom line is we're not exactly dealing with the sharpest tools in the shed |dizzy|

SirMoby 2005-10-06 01:02 AM

If they can't get a conviction against his stuff then most of us are safe.

urb 2005-10-06 09:49 AM

Shhhhh... don't tell 'em they're making a mistake!

The Bureau probably have alerts on boardtracker for their name.

emmanuelle 2005-10-06 10:10 AM

Maybe Max didn't give in to the FSC's extortion demands

Maybe they figure any coverage will just increase curiosity and enhance Max's sales. He's not quite the "household name" among mainstream folks like Larry Flynt is, but news channel publicity will likely make him one.

I hope he puts the DoJ through the same treatment his models get. |devil|

Quite true, which is why I'm amazed at the feds' stupidity in this matter. Using literally impossible-to-obey 2257 regulations to wear us all out seemed like a better strategy than risking the kind of obscenity (read: censorship) prosecution that the feds have been extremely unsuccessful with over the past decade. Juries and judges don't have much patience these days with the feds telling adult taxpayers what they can watch in privacy. 25 years of endless Republican rhetoric about "getting the government off our backs" seems to have actually sunk in among the citizens, much to the religious right's irritation.

SirMoby 2005-10-06 12:00 PM

We've seen 2 very drastic changes in the way that obscenity will be judged in the USA. Those things are Roberts and Miers. To us this may seem like a stupid thing the DOJ is doing but to those that have had private meetings with these 2 it may seem like part of a deal.

Timing is everything.
