Happy Columbus Day and Happy Thanksgiving
2 Separate holidays in both the US and Canada. I think I will celebrate by having a nice Turkey Marinara for dinner or Supper for our Canadian friends :)
|
Good Morning Folks |waves|
Happy Thanksgiving to our friends up north :) |
Morning,
Monday, my favorite day of the week. Anyway, enjoy your holiday(s) :) |
Why do we have a Columbus day? What the hell did that guy ever do for us? And what are the Canadians thankful for, besides being born north of the border? ;) Happy Great White Thanksgiving, but screw you, Columbus. Get a compass you dumb shit.
Morning all. |
Mornin' all |waves|
Cool, two holidays today. Does that mean I get time and a half, twice, for working today? Actually... it could mean that. More surfers home to use the search engine, link lists and tgps today. And that could be a good thing!. :) Simon "Happy Columbus Day! Click Here to Come Inside and Fuck Some Indigenous People Right NOW!!!" |

it is also a national holiday in Japan, Taiku No Hi (sports day) October 10th was the opening day of the Tokyo Olympics in 1964. In order to commemorate this first Olympic games held on Asian soil, October 10th became a National holiday. The Olympics helped speeding up with Japanese infrastructure. Preparing for this event, Shinkansen between Tokyo and Osaka was put into construction four years prior to the event. It was first serviced on October 1st, 1964. Traditionally, Japanese schools and business, as well as towns and villages hold sports day, in fall and spring. Events such as, big ball relay, tug of war, beanbag toss, three legged race, running relay races are popular programs. Everyone should grab a beanbag and throw it at UW. |waves| |

Good Morning. Looking forward to a nice turkey dinner today. :)

Now I'm hungry!
I wish it was Thanksgiving in the US today. Happy Holidays to my Canadian friends. |
Good day, eh :)
Hope everyone has a good holiday |thumb |
gobble gobble - good morning!
I hate having holidays on a Monday, screws me up for the rest of the week, I can never remember what day it is. Although I guess it doesn't matter, I'm here doing the same thing almost every day anyway - it's just the interruption factor when everyone is home :D Happy holiday everyone, hope you sell lots of porn! Happy Columbus Day.
Ugh, what a week it was. Most expensive week since April 1999 that I can recall. |
brr- Happy Thanksgiving
I plan to sit down to a feast of turkey flavoured Lean Cuisine. Many things here are open since it's an 'english' holiday, therefore the province doesn't give a shit. |
Morning and happy holiday to all! Enjoy your day everyone!
|
Afternoon all!
Happy Holidays to those celebrating! Had to take my lil fuzzball to the vet this morning. He had 2 seizures over the weekend...nothing severe, but had to get him checked out and adjust his meds. Here's hoping the surfers are horny today :D |
Gee - when I was a kid growing up Columbus day was on Oct12th - guess I missed the part where they changed it to the second Monday of October.
Of course its the biggest farce ever publicized since Columbus did not ever set foot on US soil and really only came over and killed, maul and enslave the Arawak Indians of Haiti. The only reason anyone thinks he was such a big deal is the embellished stories that Washington Irving published as a "supposed" biography of Columbus but was just a fictional re-creation of his supposed journeys. In reality Columbus also never had any run ins about a "flat earth" as so many kids are falsely taught - but then I guess thats ok to teach myths in school. Im sure that most teachers dont realize that the Columbus they teach kids to idealize was just as bad as Hitler when it came to trying to wipe out a race of people. |
Ah, Columbus Day, where we celebrate that time when our continent bumped into some honky lost at sea.
|
Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadians :)
