Link List Recips - It has begun
 

Well I've been scrambling as I'm sure many of you also have to make adjustments as to whom I put together in a recip table.

It is so confusing, and it's already so difficult with link lists individual rules such as banned sponsors, who they want to be seen with, who they refuse to be seen with, mixing tiny buttons with huge tables...now we have to really examine every recips code to see what they have for links...lol

Just have to make the best of it I guess.

I just received my first rejection due to outgoing links in recips today from Porn O Plenty Links...Plateman I hadn't realized you were on the list of two max...oh well.

around to a single page with those that I thought would accept more then 2 links in a recip but I didn't know Porn O Plenty wouldn't accept that.

One difficulty is no one is sure who will or will not accept more then 2 outgoing links in recips, or for that matter who has them in their recips...thus this thread.

So far I see these great Link Lists having more then 2 links:

My recip can be modified as you see fit. I will say that several of the more experienced and better site builders have been modifying my recip for months and a few add the cat so all recips match. I tend to list sites that don't break rules, have decent recips for everyone on the page (if you have a broken or illegible recip to someone else it's rejected), and some from my submit table it's listed toward the top.


I don't count how many links are in recips however, my script only allows so many links. If you sub and get too many links you might want to redo your recip table. :)

I'm just going to modify any recips with more than 2 links. Actually, I'm just getting one ready to go out & in all those recips (I submit to just over 100 LLs) there were really not that many I had to fool around with. Mostly I just took out a second main page link, made sure any anchor text was re-distributed & that was it. Given the buzz I don't think anyone will mind too much :D

I only accept sites whose recips, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, contain link lists names beginning with a consanant. Names beginning with vowels are to be submitted on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Sites submitted on Saturday must have no other recips, but should have at LEAST one of my affiliate coded sponsor links on the index. On the third Monday of each month, the link list names must have less than eight (8) letters if submitted before 5 pm.

Otherwise, I have no restrictions, such as links per recip.

Meat...think you may be making things harder on yourself than really necessary.

Out of curiousity, I just scanned back through the recips of the sites I submit to. Of the 50 sites on my list, there are 2 that previously had 3 links in their recips. Both of those lists have said that they're going to revise to 2.

Keep in mind that I've been using custom all text recips for some time now. Of the sites on your list that actually have more than 2 in their current recips, I've been submitting with a link to their index and a link to the category...that's it. And have never had a problem getting listed.

Part of that may be because they know me and know my sites. But, I really think it's more that a lot of folks make a bit too much of trying to use the exact recip of each link site. I honestly don't think very many link sites are quite that anal about seeing their recips exactly as listed. As long as you link to the index and the category...and use proper anchor text...you should be fine :)

IF it does become an issue, contact the webmaster and explain what's going on. You'd probably be pleasantly surprised to find most link list owners are quite reasonable :)

And we'll accept the old recips for at least 2 more weeks to give time to LL and freesite owners..

I should probably state that my joke wasn't meant to disrespect list owners and their rules. It may be meant to poke a little fun at 'em, but not disrespect them.;) I understand the reasons for the recent policy changes.

meatpounder I wasnt trying to be an ass about it, I would have accepted the site and was alerting you to that thread as I changed smut grimlins recip to keep the other LL on my page happy, plus she is changing them to have the 2 outgoing links..

plus I seen a conflick with the recips you had grouped and didnt want you to get rejected by other LL..

please make your changes and i'll list it for you |thumb

actually, I don't mind this rule - like I said, there weren't really that many LLs I submit to that needed changes anyway.
I've also been noticing a few submits coming in with old recips on them from other LLs - if nothing else, this is a good way to make sure people are actually reading your rules & updating recip tables regularly.

Plateman I wasn't upset at you, just frustrated I guess trying to follow every ones rules.

I know this will settle down, and I think it is actually a good thing....some of the custom recips have gotten way too complex. I miss 2 years ago when most just had a really neat button that you linked to their site.


This was more of a heads up to others to be really careful with submitting some of these custom recip tables, as the odds are someone sharing the page will just not list you.
You were kind enough to let me know the reason I was rejected :)

I've been trying to keep track and keep up with these changes - it is a scramble when you're not using custom all text link recip tables yet. Thanks Meatpounder for the lists so far.

It isn't clear to me - may I de-link the side words and marquee in the current Smutgremlins recip until they re-do it, so that recip contains two links, one to the domain and one to the niche?

UW - you certainly dont need to apologize - This is the biggest load of crap I have ever seen since I started my LL - and Ive about had it with LLs that require index page listings, less than a certain amount of links in recips and etc etc etc - Im just gonna ban any LLs from being on sites submitted to me that have crazy rules like these :) Now ya'll go figure out how to change your recips for that LOL
