Affiliate Reward Programs

You know the kind I mean. You earn points and get free stuff.

What kind of things would you want to see in such a store?

Wazza 2005-10-23 12:52 AM

Decent rewards for us barefoot foreigners... or the ability to opt out and just take the cash

Now that you mention it, the dog ate my thongs the other week... (not that sort of thong!)

I've always wanted a checkout chick and I've been asking the missus to bring one home with her for years now...

What are my chances?

Selena... will you and Raven bring me a checkout chick please?

ecchi 2005-10-23 09:12 AM

Seriously :Traffic (but not just to use to promote your site).

Actually, thinking about it as I typed that, how about offering bundles of your exit traffic for use on other sponsors/tgp/link list etc. IE. you could not sell from it so give it as a "reward" to good sellers to try and sell their other sponsors or to push their traffic exchange sites.

Rewards store?

The usual electronics and computer gear.
Tickets and passes to Internext shows.
Coupons for local stores like Best Buy, Macys or others.
Cruises and/or trips, weekend getaways.
Jewelry, watches, ect for wives.

CrazySy 2005-10-23 09:30 AM

I like gift cards, that way I can either buy whatever I want or just give it to someone as gift :)

SirMoby 2005-10-23 10:52 AM

Since you have to pay taxes on any reward gained from points, why would you want any thing other then then cash? Really an award is more like a discount because if you give me an award for $1,000 my US taxes on that is some where between $280 and $430.

Me likes money :)

plateman 2005-10-23 10:55 AM

I wish the one sponsor I have a lot of points with would come out with there rewards store or pay the points in cash..

I feel that reward points sometimes actually loooks like an imposed shave on payouts. If each sale generates, say, $1.00 worth of points, and say only 30% of all points are redeemed, then payouts per sale could in fact be $3 higher and be a net nil on the bottom line for the programs.

However, I understand that handing out $3 of point IN THEORY and only redeeming $1 of it nets the program $2 to the bottom line per sale, all while looking great for handing out "rewards" and at the same time not starting a PPS price war.

Reward me with better payouts and a lower shave on sales, and I will be a happy man.

I've got a sponsor (I wont name them, they say they're working on it...) who has a sale showing in my stats but no corresponding money associated with it, although the points in their rewards program have increased...

I like electronics. Granted, I've never earned enough points in any program to warrant cashing them in for any. I can't bring myself to waste money on video game systems, but everytime I see them in the rewards catalogs I get giddy.

Maybe Amazon.com coupons. Real money.

Jel 2005-10-24 07:25 AM

option to cash out :)

I second that!!!

all of'em have that stupid condition that they're only shipping things to MAINLAND USA - even on Hawaii you're buggered |cry|

The only option I use from time to time with Silvercash is to get some free traffic from the rewards - but extra CASH would be preferred! All other reward points are just sitting there idle, sort of like a super annuation fund, which gets eaten up by it's own fees..

selena 2005-10-24 08:12 AM

Wazza, I about choked on my morning water when I read about your thong, mate. :D

I think you should get one of these famous thongs.

Anyhow, back to the matter at hand, which is collecting information on what you all like in a store, if you like stores.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will include each of them in my report.

And while I am posting, if any of you are JaYManCash Affiliates and would like our links in a text file, hit me up. I've got them in the URL|Description format; all that is missing is your affiliate code.
