How the Hell do you build up huge traffic?

I am making about $100 a week now, but want to make much much more. (Who doesn't?)

It seems like I only get about 50 hits a day on my main page even though I have tons of recip links. How can I get this number way higher?

Is there any way to get free traffic, or do you have to pay for traffic to join the big leagues?

Also I hear people say SE traffic is gold, but what can I do to increase that?

Any ideas welcomed.

There really isn't any easy way to get 'huge' traffic.

But there are a fair number of ways to get "free" traffic.

Building freesites that you submit to linklists, and having links to your main page on those freesites, is one of the easiest ways. Treat your main page as you would a sponsor, and send traffic to it.

If you know gallery posting you can do some of the same thing with galleries, at TGPs that allow that kind of thing.

You can continue to trade traffic with others who have sites on the same level as yours, and hope to pull yourself up in trading circles by feeding your traffic into trades.

The easiest way to get SE traffic is to target rare keyphrases.

you can also submit to some linkdumps for some free traffic.

try to find some directories you can submit to as well

traffic is about the hardest thing to get these days in my opinion. it used to be so easy but people abusing the system and having a smaller population of webmasters controlling most of the traffic, its not easy. easiest and quickest way to get traffic is probably to spend a shitload of money on gallery spots and choker traffic is pretty decent too.

traffic is one thing sales is another, big traffic does not equal more sales, better traffic does, trade with your niche only and keep things fresh

Black Crayon: I live in South Bend, Indiana. This isn't my full time job, I've just been doing it since June. No way I could live off $400 a month. I'd like to make this my full time job; my goal is at least $100 a day before I consider telling my boss to fuck off.

Billy I get traffic from all over the place, from visitors to my galleries who seem to love checking the domain root, to sites like Newgrounds and various blogs linking to me. It seems to grow a lot with word of mouth, so I guess ppl just like the site (I get a lot of bookmarkers).

I'll probs offer to start trading traffic with people soon so I'll PM you about it when I do :)

Making $50 a day is what I need to say my boss goodby,
for now I make $ 200 a month and doing this to submit everyday

Make your site into smaller pages, better saturation of keywords, prolly get better SE hits that way too

In addition its way way too long. Many SE's limit characters to 180-220 in tags.

$100 a week ...lol...thats my starbucks coffee budget! but anyways, building up traffic overall will be different for different sites, people, etc. There are actually a ton of methods you can use and try. It was already mentioned here about creating free sits and adding those to link lists and directories; search engine rankings, link dumps yes; even chatting and participating in forums like this one helps a lot actually because it gives you exposure with interactivity....there's adwords for google, yahoo, etc....adding your site(s) to toplists....and more...you will actually find many solutions in the adult forums with lots of member tutorials. One thing to note, is that buying traffic is ok, but it doesn't last. So try not to spend your money on that. Overall, as others say and will say, Search Engine traffic is ultimately the best to get.

It's all trial and error and doesn't happen overnight, so the key is be patient but don't give up :)

It's not just about building up traffic - it's about converting it. I know a guy who used to have 100-150 on his CJ and couldn't convert. Now he has 20-30K it and converts pretty well. It all comes with experience.

One thing about solid search engine traffic is that it can take time to build. I don't have that much experience with adult (yet!), but I have a large network of non-adult sites, and I know it can easily take 2-3 years to get good positions for good keywords on Google. Once you got that though, you really hit the jackpot!

Another good tip I've learned from MML GG, Linkster, Jim, Ramster, etc., is to keep building each and everyday - even if its just half an hour.

I learnt about building traffic via the yahoo group network, granted its harder to do with a standalone site.

By building a group and listing it on TL's I quickly leanrt about niches and how most people catergorise porn, ie MILF, Teen, BDSM etc etc.

I had around 10 groups at the begining all different niches all gathering members by the day.

By learning how to guide them through the group and learning how to send them on to places that sent people back they soon started making money.

When the groups are in place you have a the pefect marketing tool to tell people who are into BDSM that you have a new BDSM free page, these guys will give you a kick start as you should be able to drive this traffic where you want it to go.

ODnt get me worng I am not saying this is full proof though it worked out for me and when things are tight I quite often wack up some groups to boost my marketing reach.

I get quite a few hits on my main page simply from using a sex-tracker counter and letting them list my site in their directories and so forth. And no I dont work for em...lol
