LiveBucks changed payscale after $2500 in sales!

I signed up for LiveBucks and added their link to my members page. I was lucky to have a member show spent $2500 in 2 weeks, which gave me over $680 in commissions based on their pay scale.

their programs guideline says
0 to $399 =20%
400 to $999 25%
1000 to $2499 30%
2500 to 4999 35%

The stats page showed I am still at 20% even though in 5 days I sent them $2274.36 in sales. I icq'd the owner and asked about the payout scale and he told me this,
"We cannot justify paying you the scale since it's only one customer you've sent, and not a lot of traffic. Send more traffic and next time we'll payout what is quoted"

and then this: roy (6:27 PM) :
right, but in instances such as yours I can't justify the pay increase... we'd be losing money, those are meant to be basic guidelines not absolutes.. pay scale is determined on a case by case basis....

We went back and forth and he said well I will have someone add the fine print"

I know what you are all thinking, "well they are probably concerned about chargebacks and that it may be fraud", right?
Well, I initially contacted them to make sure it was one customer who always spends a lot on the live cam networks and not someone doing fraud.
The owner (KARL and ROY) both told me that this person had faxed a written agreement as well as his ID and both sides of his credit card and they dont charge webmasters back anyway.

So you tell me, is this the way things are supposed to go? or is this company with a good rep and that has been in business for 5 years just fucking me over becasue they can?

Thanks

th3g4me 2005-10-24 06:50 PM

I think they are doing it because they can... They should at least pay it this time and let this be a warning they wont do it again, or they should have had it say they needed more than one person to spend the money for you to get paid correctly to start with.

GenXer 2005-10-24 07:49 PM

Does NOT sound like good business to me on their part!

Ramster 2005-10-24 10:20 PM

It is NOT good business!!!!!!!

Does it say guideline on the rules page? NO! It says this is the pay rate!! If they'd lose money on it then they shouldn't say you'd get an increase if you hit a certain number in sales.

mariah 2005-10-24 11:16 PM

AGREED! I HAVE BEEN BACK AND FORTH WITH THEM ALL DAY WITH NO RESULTS. I JUST AM TOLD THEY FORGOT TO ADD THE FINE PRINT, BUT IN THE SAME SENTENCE SAID THAT THEY HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR 5 YEARS AND HAVE A GREAT SCRUB FOR FRAUD, BLAH BLAH BLAH....YET THEY ARENT PROFESSIONAL ENOUGH TO DO WHAT THEY PRINT IN THEIR AFFILIATE PROGRAM DETAILS!

SICKENING IS WHAT IT IS! WE'LL SEE WHAT I GET IN EPASSPORTE ON THE 15TH...I AM NOT HOLDING MY BREATH, AND NOW THAT IVE PISSED THEM OFF I DOUBT I'LL GET CREDIT FOR ANY FUTURE SALES.

DAMNIT IM PISSED!

Rednax 2005-10-25 01:37 AM

Wow, sounds like complete bullshit to me.

Toby 2005-10-25 04:02 AM

The correct way to do business would be to honor the payment terms as listed and make current payouts accordingly. THEN revise the terms for future cases.

cosmiccat 2005-10-25 05:51 AM

That's a crock. They should pay you and then add the fine print. I would stay away from them in the future.

amadman 2005-10-25 08:58 AM

I agree with what everyone has said here. They should swallow it and make changes so they do not need to do it again.

SirMoby 2005-10-25 09:28 AM

So they forgot to add the fine print. The price for being sloppy is paying you the money that you earned based on the agreement that you 2 had in place. They just lost more money then it would have cost them to pay you in this single post.

Silly business practices.

selena 2005-10-25 10:15 AM

Personally, I'd drop a sponsor that pulled that sort of crap on me. Way too many sponsors to chose from to spend time promoting one that doesn't honor a listed payscale.

roy 2005-10-25 10:32 AM

Gee Mariah, thanks for posting before the issue was settled, shows some real class on your part....

Just to let everone know the TOS are from the old program in 2002, which was brought to my attention yesterday. They do not include the minimum traffic requirements that enable us to pay the increased commission percentages.

Sloppy? yes.

Will you receive increased commission? Yes, an honest mistake but non the less still a mistake that we are owning up to and making right.

From the dated TOS:
'DHL will pay the subscribing party twenty percent(20%) of every purchase of time to the Private shows minus refunds and chargebacks. Minimum payout is USD$50.00 and will be sent out once a month.'

Well we eat all the cb's and refunds now and periods are 15 days, if we wanted to be rude about this we'd have every legal recourse to pay only 20%.

Oh and by the way, you better hope there's no fraudulent activity on this account because I know of your webmaster and he's ripped off a lot of people in this biz.

DrGuile 2005-10-25 11:45 AM

You made over 500$ in comission with one customer?

Nice! all in all, still shows that Livebucks sells like a mother!!

mariah 2005-10-25 12:49 PM

Ok everyone....I have read the comments and think I was in the right on this one. I was told yesterday that the rate would be 20% and that was that. But now I see Roy has said they will pay the 30% and that is fine by me. thats all I wanted to know about.

I apologize for jumping the gun on this and would have waited if I had thought this matter was still pending. I thought it was settled and I was getting 20% final.

I will wait until the fat lady sings from now on and hopefully when payday comes I get the amount due.

Thanks

roy 2005-10-25 12:58 PM

No worries, told you I was working on it ;)

It always comes down to this.. "We'll go a head and pay you but (add insult here).

I've had 'one' customer who's been a member of my site since 99. He buys thousands of dollars a month in cam shows from a cam provider I feature in my members area. I wish I had more guys like him but what difference does it make if my sales come from 30 guys buying a little bit here and there or one babe obsessed mac daddy.
If I have a guy like that, and
mariah has a guy like that who spends big, then there must be others who come in and spend big. It's our job to send traffic, not to screen the customer. There should be no stipulations uless so satted in the TOS, so it should have never escalated to a board thread.

The flip side here are those who like to run the boards before things have been dealt with and those who post without knowing much info on the situation.

Exactly, I agree whole heartedly.

"increased' makes it sound like a bonus. I think it's what she agreed to when signing up to the program, not something extra.

Can you please explain this? I'm confused.

One more question: Aren't you guys BrainCash?

roy 2005-10-25 03:02 PM

We are not Braincash, both from Mtl. though.
Sorry, I'm not going to explain that comment.

th3g4me 2005-10-25 03:13 PM

It was a threat, or it was an inslut. I am not sure maybe both.

:)

LiveBucks does the right thing!

Many of you may have read my thread from last month bitching about LiveBucks and the % they were paying me.

It was resolved and I just wanted to clear it and say that they paid me in full as agreed.

I wanted to do the right thing and make sure that anyone who was concerned knows they did what they said, and thats all that anyone can ask!

Thanks!

Sounds good bump for that!

I think everyone knows how Jim & I feel on this subject.

Kenny B! 2005-11-23 11:07 AM

The guys at LiveBucks are solid, I've never had any issues with them! I just wished you used my ref code when I suggested you use them:-)
