26.231 emails in Trash box
I have just moved the content of my Spam box to my Trash box and emptied the Trash box.
Eudora is now removing 26.231 email messages. Bye spam! |pink |
I do hope that was not one days worth.
|
That's a weeks worth for me, which is why I dump the junk & trash daily :)
|
Ouch...got me beat...I 'only' delete a few hundred a day.
Seems like it's been worse than usual lately though. Think I may have pissed off a spammer or two when I said I'd have to bitch slap a spammer if I met em face to face :D |
Damn, you guys must be popular :D
I only get about 20 a day and mostly written in russian or something...i should definitely start to learn russian, who knows how many love letters of russian chicks I miss this way...lol |
Just a small word of advice for some of you who don't know and I just figured out. You might notice how some people place their contact info on their sites as
webmaster [at] website.com not linked with a mailto: Some spammers send out bots that will read your entire site for just email addys I guess they get them by looking for the @ symbol. I have yet to remove mine on my site but does seem like a smart idea to help stop the mail from filling up. |

I stopped posting linked mail addys on sites a long time ago for that very reason. |
No no, it's not from one day, i think it's from one or 2 months. Phew, i should not think about getting over 20.000 spam emails a day ;)
Great tip juggernaut, i'm currently in the process of converting all my email links to javascript links. |
I would also advise against using the form "webmaster [at] website.com" since it would be very easy to write a Perl gopher to look for this as well as webmaster@website.com, I could do it in a few hours and I am not an expert at Perl, I just learnt enough to write what I need.
