Traffic and signups disproportion
I was wondering is it normal?
10.01 to 10.15 1:497 16 sales singups every day 10.16 to 10.31 1:1498 06 sales I don't have any signup 7 days!!! I have more visitors in 10.16 to 10.31 period. Coments please! |
Yes, these types of statistical fluctuations are normal. There are many things that effect conversions in the short term in addtion to traffic volume, some within your control, and many that are not.
I don't get too concerned unless a sponsor that has been consistantly converting at say 1:500 drops to 1:1500 and stays there for an extended period. Then it's time to re-evaluate that sponsor. |
I'm usually having 2 good weeks a month, then 2 crappy ones lol. Last couple of months it's been the 1st & last weeks that are good, maybe everyone gets their cc bill in the middle of the month or something lol.
my traffic levels don't seem to matter, I could do really well on a slow traffic day & shitty on a high one. I just average it out for the month & it looks better :) oh the mysteries of porn :D Ponygirl |
I'll usually have one bullshit week, one average and two good. Last month week 3 sucked but my total sales for the month were the second best ever. Unless the trend continues I'd chalk it up to "shit happens"

At a glance I thought you said 16 sales a day and I thought that doesn't sound too bad :D
I usually just watch the total clickthrus. If there's no dip in the clickthrus, then I assume my traffic level is normal. As long as you're averaging around 1:1000, I wouldn't worry about it, I just build more stuff. Also, spread things out a bit and it's easier to weather the lousy conversions when one sponsor is underperforming. Bottom line: Build enough sites to minimize luck and you'll see enough sales/day to keep a smile on your face :) |
The last few weeks were very bad! I have a sponsor where I made 6-7 pps signups per day and now I make 0-1 with the same amount of traffic!!
I was in Prague for 1 week and got a real shock when I came back seeing these stats. |
Yep, at first blush...those numbers absolutely look within range. I have days of 1:300 and days of 1:3000...it happens.
Some sound advice from Halfdeck, if it's averaging 1:1000...live with it...and build more |thumb Get more sponsor clicks going. Make the good days far outweigh the bad days. Oh, and for the record...September and October have sucked wind big time here |dizzy| |
I see some of the same. I have just had 4 days without a single sign up with sponsors, but my own paysites sell as normal. 4 days without a single sponsor sales has probably not happend since I started out in this bizz. At the other sponsors I am pushing I am at about 0:10000 uniques in total. I guess I need to push my own sites more in the future instead of sending traffic to other places that can not convert it. Or at least to places where the sales goes on and off like a traffic light. I really do not belive much on the "summer-slow-down" from march to october and "christmas-slow-down" from october until march. Had a huge summer slow down with some sponsors and some other sold as normal as well as my own paysites. I guess I need to prioritize to redirect my traffic in the next couple of weeks.
